In the heart of the city, people moved along quickly to get to where they needed to be. No one had the time or seemed to simply care about the people around them. An everywhere a person went masks could be seen, for it was the only way for the population to breathe in the air. The Earth was heavily polluted and humanity had long given up hope of saving their dieing planet.

Death was becoming a common occurance. The air was so dirty that the enviorment caused many to go 6 feet under well before there usual time of passing. So many people seemed to die that the only way a person could dispose of the bodies these days was through burning them.

A persons last moments before becoming ash were maybe the goodbyes of a loved one before the put the lid of the cardboard box your lying in on top of you. I saw this as symbolically sealing your dead fate and burn the pain of your miserable life away.

Like hundreds of people everyday, I found myself in one of these disposable boxes.

Dead.

But unlike the hundreds of people who had died along with me the day of my birth, I found myself coming back to life.

Taking in another breathe into my fragile, newborn lungs...

And letting out a pleading cry for help.
