2 Hours Later
Finally! I can go home!
I tapped my fingers rhythmically to the song on the radio. DNA by Little Mix blasted through the speakers, the windows vibrating from the volume. My voice belted out throughout the car as I imagined I was in the music video as I drove through the streets of London. I glanced at my dashboard and realized that it was three in the afternoon.
Hmm. Mom and Dad should be home from their meeting, which is a good thing. Maybe we can have an actual family dinner without one of them rushing off to the corporate building.
I hardly got to spend time with them, because they not only owned, but worked as CEO's for a popular wine company. Their work was also the reason we had to move from the busy city of New York to London; because their vice-president wanted to build a wider "wine empire" (and those were his actual words). He believed that a branch in Europe would make my family's company gain worldwide fame. However, they wanted me to get my own job to "experience the struggle to support ones-self".
Ten minutes later, I parked my car in front of my house and headed up the cobbled steps. After unlocking the front door, I walked inside and put my bag down on the end of the grand staircase. I was about to go and look for my parents, when I heard a voice call out my name.
"Elizabeth honey? Is that you?" Mom called from the dining room. Instead of answering her, I walked into the dining room and hugged her and Dad.
"How was work sweetheart?" Dad questioned as he typed away at his laptop.
"It was fine..busy..as usual.." I responded, not really knowing how to introduce Niall into the conversation.
Dad nodded with a satisfied smile on his lips as I stood beside one of the chairs awkwardly. You know that feeling when you don't know whether or not your parents are done talking to you? Well, I was having that feeling. Luckily, Mom piped up and gave me an excuse to do something else than just stand there.
"Elizabeth, why don't you relax and take a seat with us. We also have coffee in the pot if you want some"
I settled on a glass of water instead and took a seat next to her. Noticing that she was reading a gossip magazine, I decided to share some information I picked up during work about the day's hottest celebrities. She happily chatted back with me, ranting about how stupid some people can be.

30 minutes later
Mom and I were just in the middle of a conversation surrounding Kim and Kanye's new baby when the doorbell rang. Dad offered to get it, so we stayed where we were and picked up on where we left off. I was too busy ranting about how the name "North" is such an ironic name to notice that Mom wasn't even paying attention to me. Her gaze was attached to something behind me and I turned around only to see Dad standing there. It wasn't until Dad moved over that I got a good look at who was behind him. My eyes widened in surprise wondering how he found me and why was he here. But most importantly how Mom and Dad were going to react when they found out who Niall was and how I was associated with him.
"Elizabeth, who is this boy and why is he saying that he knows you?" Dad asked with a serious tone.
I was too shocked to respond. Instead, I sat there, staring at my hands placed on my lap . Too scared to move, even though I could feel everyone staring at me.
"Young lady, answer me. Right. Now."
I sighed "His name is Niall and I met him today at work... He also asked me out on a date and I said yes..."
