"Hello Elizabeth, nice to see you here."
I bit my lip as I sat frozen in place, only turning my head to meet Rose's gaze. She looked equally frightened as I felt.
"What's wrong babe? Are you not happy to see me? Or do you not recognize me?" His tone was soft as silk, yet it had an ice-cold edge to it. He knew perfectly well that I knew who he was, but he kept playing his little game. "C'mon, turn around Elizabeth. Introduce me to your friend."
My heart raced even faster as I slowly turned around in my black and white checkered chair, knowing that I shouldn't ignore him any longer. I sucked in a breath as soon as I met his frosty gaze, his face hinting no sign of amusement. His dirty-blonde hair was tussled in a few different directions, confirming that Niall had ran his hand through it a couple times, while his cheeks were a slight shade of red. And his lips! They were a light shade of pink as they were pursed together. Even in his angered state, he didn't fail to take my breath away with his beauty.
I shook my head lightly, trying to get rid of the image of his lips meeting mine when I heard Rose clear her throat.
Well this couldn't have gotten any more awkward.
"Well...uh.. guess I will catch up with you some other time." I commented as I stood up from my chair; But before I could move another inch, I felt two warm hands place themselves on my shoulders.
"What are you talking about Elizabeth?! You were so determined to meet up with your friend you snuck out a window! Why would you waste all that hard work by leaving so early?" Niall exclaimed, emphasizing that part about me and the window with fake enthusiasm. I squeezed my eyes shut as he gingerly pushed my shoulders down, forcing me back to my original position.
"Hey! George! Give me a medium mango smoothie yeah? Oh! Thanks for the help by the way!" I looked at him in shock as he shot me a smug look.
So that's how he found me! Knowing Niall, he probably sent a text to everyone in his contacts asking if they have seen me.
George looked at me and sent me a sheepish smile.
I rolled my eyes at the thought, knowing that my guess was right. Rose and I sat in heavy silence as we waited for Niall to get his smoothie. Her expression was panicked as she sent me looks that had secret meanings in them that only best friends could understand.
Rose's said "He is scaring me, can I excuse myself now and leave?". Disappointment was clear in her serene eyes as I shook my head no, rejecting her plans of escaping.
There was no way in hell I was going to be left alone with an angry Niall.
Niall decided to break the silence as he pulled a metal chair over to the table, placing it right next to mine. He took a sip out of his tall glass before speaking."So, you're the famous Rose? Elizabeth here wouldn't stop talking about you ever since she came back from the hospital. I reckon that you two are mighty close. I've got four best friends myself."
I looked at him in confusion, thinking that this was part of his little charade, but I only saw pure sincerity and friendliness.
Wasn't he angry at me five minutes ago?
"M-my name is Rose..." My nervous friend murmured, her voice shaking with the pressure of having Niall there. Poor girl, he probably scared her senseless when he came inside the shop. Rose took her glass in hand and played with the straw as she avoided Niall's piercing stare.
