"I hate you Marimba." I growled as I slammed my hand onto my phone, turning off the alarm. Slowly, I pushed the blankets off my body and headed towards the bathroom.
Not even bothering to check out my bird-nest looking hair, I began to brush my teeth and prepare the shower. My mind began to wander off, smiling at the thought of Niall carrying me back to bed. As I stepped into the water, my excitement grew larger as I anticipated my day at work.
Shampoo. Rinse. Conditioner. Rinse. I worked through my daily routine as I hummed along a senseless tune, my mood quickly brightening up. Stepping carefully out of the shower, I dried myself off with the plush lavender towel and put on my uniform for work; not even caring that my hair wasn't dry, I pulled it up in a tight ponytail and clipped a green bow to the back.
A loud bang filled the apartment, causing me to jump five feet in the air, followed by a booming voice. "OW shit! What the fuck!"
I raced out of the room and into the kitchen, stopping dead in my tracks as I took in the scene. A stainless steel frying pan laid on the floor, surrounded by pieces of bacon and eggs, while Niall was leaned up on the counter, cradling his hand to his chest.
"What happened?" I asked, putting a hand on my hip.
"I was making breakfast for you when I accidentally held onto the pan handle and burned my hand." Niall sheepishly said, hissing through his teeth as he poked his swollen fingers.
"Where's the first aid kit?"
"In the guest bathroom, under the sink." Quickly, I retrieved the first aid kit and walked gingerly towards Niall.
"Look at you. Trying to cook me breakfast and ended up being burnt. Poor Niall." I cooed as I tended to his wound. "Does it feel better?"
He looked at his bandaged hand before gazing down at me, shaking his head. "I think a kiss will make the ouchie go away."
My eyebrows raised up in amusement at his baby voice before I laid a kiss on his hand. "All better?"
"I was thinking somewhere else actually." Niall jutted out his lips in a hinting manner, making me giggle.
I puckered my lips slightly and pecked him on the lips, brushing my nose against his affectionately. "My brave little man."
"Hey! Who are you calling little? I'm taller than you." He exclaimed, trying to hide a smile.
"Sure sure! Now where's the cereal?"
"What's wrong with the breakfast I cooked for you?" His expression was so innocent as his eyebrows furrowed in sincere confusion.
"No offense Niall, but I don't really feel comfortable eating food that has been on the floor for more than five seconds." I chuckled.
"You got a point there. Oh alright, cereal is in the cupboard." Taking my bowl with me, I made my way over to the cabinets and took out a box of Chocolate Cheerios. Satisfied with the amount I poured into my bowl, I brought it back to the kitchen island and drowned the cereal in milk."I have work for the whole day, but you wouldn't mind me dropping you off today or picking you up would you?"
"Of course not! Oh! But we better get going. My shift starts in twenty minutes." I gobbled up the last of my cereal and drank a glass of water; I had just pulled on my navy hoodie when a pill bottle was thrusted in front of my face.
"Forgetting something?"
My eyes squeezed closed as I smacked myself on the forehead, "My medicine! Right! Almost forgot." Niall shook his head at me as I took another glass of water and swallowed the pill.
