I know something's wrong. Riley's my best friend, and we all know she has had a big crush on Lucas ever since we met him. I admit I like him a little, but I can't tell Riley. The last thing I want is to ruin our friendship.
(at dinner)
*silence*
Mr. Matthews: so girls, how did your first day of school go?
Riley: good.
Mr. Matthews: Maya?
*Maya stares at her food*
Mr. Matthews: Maya?
Maya: oh, yes. Good.
Mr. Matthews: I can tell there's something wrong. Do you want to talk about it?
Riley: No, dad. Everything's okay.
Mr. Matthews: okay.
Everything's becoming worse. I can't even talk with my best friend, and we like the same guy. Honestly, I don't know what I'm going to do.
