Riley's P.O.V.
Maya comes back. She took way too long to get that drink. But she looks happy, and that's all that matters to me.
Riley: What happened in there? You look really happy.
Maya: (still smiling) nothing special.
Maya's P.O.V.
I turn around for a moment. I catch a glimpse of Charlie, talking to Sarah. He knows I'm looking at him and smiles back.
Lucas: I think we should get going.
Farkle: yeah.
Riley: Maya, are you sleeping over at my house tonight?
Maya: sure, let's go.
(at Riley's house)
Riley: so now we know that you like Lucas.
Maya: what?
Riley: you couldn't stop smiling when you saw him.
I was looking at Charlie.
Riley: just so you know, Lucas and I decided to just be friends.
Oh God, she's stepping back for me. Now I definitely cannot tell her about Charlie.
Maya: Oh.
Riley: What?
Maya: you don't have to do this.
Riley: Maya, I already told you. I don't even like him that much.
Riley's P.O.V.
I like him. A lot. But I know this is the right thing to do. I just have to hide what I feel and everything will be alright. It's hard, though. When you want to stop liking someone, but all you do is think about them, it gets kind of hard. I'll do it, for her.
