Maya's P.O.V.
Oh no. Out of all the people in the world, why did I have to bump into Lucas? He looks at me, and he immediately knows that I'm not well.
Lucas: Maya, what's wrong?
I can't stop crying.
Lucas: let's go talk.
We sit outside at Topanga's. Charlie and Sarah are not there.
Lucas: tell me what happened.
Maya: First, I went on a date with Charlie and didn't tell Riley.
Lucas: Charlie Gardner?
Maya: yes. Riley stepped back for me because I told her I still like you.
Lucas: why did you tell her that?
Maya: because it's true, okay! And now Charlie cheated on me and everything's ruined!
Lucas: it'll be okay. I'll help you.
He hugs me. I can't help myself. I grab his face and kiss him. It's quick. Why did I do that? Out of the corner of my eye I see Riley. She quickly turns around and runs away. Why does this happen to me?
Maya: I have to go.
