Maya's P.O.V.
(inside the house)
As he approaches I start to wish I had stayed outside.
Jake: hey there.
Maya: hi... Jake. I better leave now...
*Jake grabs Maya's arm*
Maya: hey! Leave me alone!
*Jake doesn't let go*
*Charlie comes*
Charlie: hey! you heard her! let go!
Jake: Guess what? I wo-
Charlie: No, you guess what. If you don't leave her alone I will beat you up before you can even count to three. Go away.
*Jake lets her go and leaves*
Charlie Gardner? What was he doing? I always thought he liked Riley. I mean, who wouldn't? She is sweet and bubbly. Why did he stand up for me?
Maya: thank you.
Charlie: do you want to go talk somewhere else?
Maya: sure.
(at the front porch)
Maya: thanks for what you did in there.
Charlie: no prob. I don't think a girl like you should be alone in a party.
Maya: why do you say that?
Charlie: because I think you're special. And you don't find special people often.
Maya: Hahah. Thanks, but I'm not really that special.
Charlie: You are.
We stare at each other in silence for a few moments. I stare into his beautiful green eyes, as he leans in closer, until our faces are a few centimeters apart. Then he kisses me, and it feels as if this night was meant to happen, just like a fairytale. Then he lets go, and he smiles at me.
Charlie: I really like you. Will you go out with me?
Maya: Of course.
We go back inside, and I go back to the backyard. I sit with my friends and then I see Lucas. Now I'm confused. Do I like Charlie? Should I go out with him? It would be better for all of us. Riley will be with Lucas and there won't be any problems. I'm just not sure of this yet. I can't get Lucas out of my mind.
