A mosquito landed on my hand. With the free one I smacked it. The mousquito remains were now left on my palm brown and red looking. I brushed them off. It was too hot. Only two more days to Autverg I thought to myself. I sighed. It seemed like an eternity. I looked at the kid. Looking down at the ground carrying the brown bag I gave her. She hadn't complained since we started walking. I knew she couldn't talk or I guess wouldn't, but she didn't even show any signs of fatigue. Hell even I seem more tired than her. I don't know maybe she's a demon child or something. And how did she even happen to live in the Karsten woods? In the whole she was a complete mistery to me.
Well atleast she had normal clothes now, if you can call obviously too large clothes that I gave her normal. She was such a small child. Even for an eight and a half year old. Out of no reason at all I became sad for her. Who was she? What had happened to her? I guessed I'll find out at some point.
I looked ahead of me. Autverg. We can buy some food there. I took out my stash of money and opened it. Five silver and ten bronze dinares. Shit I said to myself. That's not enough money to have food for all three of us.
Marco ran ahead of me spotting something far ahead.
I watched him. I guess we'll have to get the money somehow. I thought. And shouted: "Marco, get back here!"
