~Delanie's POV~
Rhett called a little while later on Skype, talking about his boy. Every one of them was focusing, and I was the only one standing up. I was looking at the wall, trying to keep my mind pre-occupied. I knew I was being socially awkward by the way Link's blue eyes kept looking at me. Toby and Kendall were focused, but I could tell their minds were on another task. Slowly, I felt this heat crawl up my spine and up my neck. It felt like a hand, grasping me, trying to take over.
The whole scene was blending into this color of tannish-blue. My world inside my head was crumbling apart, which was what I was trying to stop from happening. Come On Delanie. You can do it. I thought to myself.
Deep Breaths remember? Like your mother taught you to control your anxiety. Use that method. Come on.. One.. Two.. Three.. Four.. Five.. Six.. Seven..
That's when it all fell into this black abyss of nothing. Shadows swam around my head, crowding my field of vision.
Eight... Nine.. Come On Delanie.. Breathe.. Breathe..
I felt warmth against my skin. The cold was surrounded by warmth; I wanted to get out of this.. GET OUT!
~Link's POV~
"Toby!" I was grasping onto a passed out Delanie. "Delanie! Stop it!" I shook her and her eyes fluttered open. Her eyes darkened from this light sky blue to this dark blue. My color. She stared blankly at me then hugged me close.
"De.." Toby was standing over us and I hugged her closely to me.
"Thank You... I needed that." Delanie whispered. Toby crouched next to us and looked at her.
"Delanie.. What happened?" Toby asked her gently. I looked at him, letting her out of the hug. I've seen that look in someone else's eyes before. Some girl a year ago who had depression, who wanted to die. Delanie was as limp as a ragdoll.
"Nothing Toby.. I'm fine." Delanie stood, her legs wobbly and bent at the knees. I stood, brushing my hands on my jeans. Toby looked at me suspiciously, and I nodded. A silent agreement that I was gonna tell him what happened later. Michaela and Jack stood up, and Kendall was explaining to Rhett what happened.
"Is she okay?"
No. Delanie needs help fast.. Say something Link..
"She's fine. She felt dizzy is all." I smiled, feeling guilty as hell for lying to all the people in the room. Toby patted me on the back, hard. I made eye contact with him and I hoped he couldn't see the lie in my eyes.
"Okay.. It is pretty hot." Toby agreed. I internally sighed, thanking God for letting my eyes not show the feelings.
"Come on Delanie. I'll put you in bed." Toby wrapped Delanie's arm around his shoulder and walked her down the hall to the spare bedroom. Jack came up to me and put his arm around my shoulder.
"You like Delanie huh?"
"Not in that way Jack. She's cool, and I know she needs help."
Jack and I met eyes. He now knows that I know about Delanie's problem. Or maybe she has more?? I don't care. I am compelled to help, no matter what it is.
"Okay well.. We'll check on them in a few okay?"
Jack led me back to the couch with Rhett and the two girls. Delanie was going to be fine.
~Toby's POV~
I laid Delanie down on the bed and turned to close the door.
"Toby.. Lay down next to me."
I closed the door and turned shocked. Delanie's eyes were flooded with tears.
"Delanie! What's wrong?" I literally launched myself at the bed and belly-flopped onto it. As soon as I laid down, Delanie curled up next to me, nuzzling her face against my chest. I wrapped my arms around her, hugging her close.
"I wasn't dizzy. It was my depression."
"I figured. Link looked pretty damn worried about you. He really likes you already."
"I'm g-gl-glad."
"Delanie.. Calm down. It's okay." I stroked her hair and 'shh'ed' her, gently rocking her back and forth. After a good 20 minutes, I heard her light snoring. I looked down at my chest to see her eyes closed and her mouth opened a crack.
I then slowly fell asleep with Delanie in my arms.
~Kendall's POV~
After an hour of Toby leading Delanie to the bedroom, I got a tad bit worried. Like what the hell were they doing in there?
I walked down and opened the door to the most cutest sight I have ever frikin seen. Toby had his back to the door, but the bed was so low I could see Delanie wrapped up in his arms. They were both asleep and even their breathing was in sync.
"Awe." I jumped, startled, and I turned around. Michaela was standing behind me smiling. I laughed nervously and turned around.
"If I knew they looked this cute earlier, they would have been right here 5 years ago."
"Toby was really depressed that you didn't think of bringing her out sooner."
"What?"
"On the way here, He was afraid she wouldn't be here." I looked at Michaela and her face flushed.
"Oh... I didn't know if she could handle it."
"Well you should have thought of Toby too."
Michaela turned around and went to the living room. I was left to look at my brother and his childhood friend, someone who was like a sister to me.
"I'm gonna look after you." I looked up and saw Toby stroking her hair and kissing her forehead. I then closed the door silently as to not disturb.
