Saying hello

Rehearsal wasn't too fun. Jess messed up and elbowed me so I made a really sharp, loud, squeaky sound before falling off my chair.

If you think that wasn't embarrassing enough, my instructor stopped the whole orchestra playing. At first it was all "Oh my Atlanta! Are you all right?" Then when I said I was fine it was a whole speech about how important focus and concentration is.

Of course being the good friend I am, and mainly because I didn't want to argue with my instructor, I said I was just clumsy instead of giving Jess the blame. Jess owes me big. I hurt my arm by falling, embarrassed myself in front of the whole orchestra, then I had to suffer through a speech and it's all because of Jess.

It wasn't too bad though. I saw Izzy two seats next to me. She smiled.

"Whatcha daydreaming about?" Jess interrupted my thoughts.

"Hmm?"

"Your thinking about iz-zy!" She said all sing-songy again.

"Am not!"

"Are too! I bet that's why your were blushing when you fell."

"No! I was embarrassed with all the attention I got when you accidentally pushed me over."

"Key word: 'accidentally.' And you smiled when you saw her smile!"

"You noticed her smile?" I said a little too sharply. A smile is a small detail, I guess I got a little jealous. Oops.

"Aw! Little Delany is protective over her crush!" Jess sounded as if she was talking to a baby.

"Shut up!" I say as I punch her arm.

"Ooo! A crush!" I hear a sweet voice from behind me. A beautiful, wonderful voice that made me freeze.

"Hi. I'm Izzy," The most gorgeous girl I know said right in front of me. Yeah, me!

Oh, did I mention I never actually talked to her.

"Hi!" I heard Jess say in the back of my head as she elbowed me, pulling me out of shock.

"Oh, uh, hi," I say looking down, trying to hide my blush because I was starring again.

"Well I'm Jess and this is Delaney the awkward."

"Shut up!" I punch Jess in the arm blushing again.

"I just came over to see if your arm was okay," Izzy said to me.

"My arm?"

"Yeah, you uh, fell pretty hard in it."

"Oh, I'm fine."

"Uh, okay. Well what's this I hear about  a crush?"

"Oh it's, uh, nothing. I'll talk to you guys tomorrow. My mom is here," I fake a text to try and avoid embarrassing myself in front of Izzy.

"But your my ride home!" Jess calls after me.

"Then come on!" I yell not bothering to look behind me.

"She's so jealous!" Jess exclaimed as we walked out of the building.

"Is not! She is just a normal girl who likes gossip."

"No! She was totally trying to see who she had to take down to get to you!"
