"Why can't you skip it?" I beg into the phone.
"Because I can't just skip helping my cousin pick out dresses!" Jess laughs.
"It's not like it's her wedding dress!"
"No, but it's the dress I have to wear as the flower girl in her wedding! You'll be fine without me."
"No I won't! Esther keeps talking to me about her! She will make me go back to loving her and I can't do that again!"
"But you do still love her. Del you try to deny it but I still see how you look at her!"
"Shut up! I don't!" I screamed. We sat in silence for a little bit. I tried to lighten the mood again after a little bit, "You are worse than Esther."
"Sorry, Del. I'm sorry. But are you really calling me worse than a voice in your head?"
"Fine, Esther's worse."
"Delaney! Let's go!" I hear my mom yell.
"Dang it, I gotta go," I tell Jess.
"Good luck," she says.
I hung up the phone, yes I still have a landline, and walked out to the car. Looks like I'll have to face Izzy alone today.
~ just realized at some point in the book I changed the spelling of Delaney from Delany to Delaney so yeah I'll just keep it as Delaney now ~
