Rogue

For lack of a better term that's what it is. A band member that leaves. It's not inexcusable, a lot of things happen between band members in the time they're together. A "rogue band" to me would be St. Asonia. Ex lead singer of Three Days Grace (Adam Gontier <3), ex guitarist from staind, ex drummer from finger eleven, and a bassist from some other band I don't remember. It's good that they're still making music, because they're all awesome, but it just isn't the same. Its Adam, but its not Three Days Grace. I use Adam because the singer has the most distinctive style and I'm most familiar with him. But- its nice to still hear new material from him, and its similar style, but its not the same. It takes some getting used to, but its better than nothing.

On the flip side, bands that lose a member. They may replace him and keep going. It won't be the same, but its better than nothing. Using my Three Days Grace example, Adam left and drummer Brad Walst's brother Matt Walst came and is lead vocals now. He'll never replace exactly what Adam was, but its still awesome music (Human album is Matt).
