"And he had fish lips anyway, how could you even stand kissing him? Surely they'd be too big," Luke asked me as I giggled slightly into his shoulder.

It was around 10 o'clock, and it was a cold Saturday night, despite it being summer. It was raining heavily, and the sound of thunder echoing could be heard from miles away. Myself and Luke were in his room, cuddled up on his bed.

"Easily, he was an amazing kisser. Those 'fish lips' of his gave me something to chew on," I responded, winding him up. I always knew he hated Jake, that was probably the only reason he was listening to me right now.

Jake, my boyfriend, had been cheating on me all along, and our 'relationship' had been nothing more than a bet between him and his petty friends. Luke knew instantly that something was up when he asked me out, but I was taken. I'd had a crush on him ever since I was in the womb.

Well, not literally, but you get it.

"Too much detail there, honey," Luke chuckled softly, rubbing small comforting circles in my back.

I laughed slightly, pulling away from him. "I'm sorry, Lukey."

Luke Hemmings was my best friend. We were both those lonely misfit kids, that found each other, and were no longer lonely. It was as easy as that. Maybe that was why Luke wasn't in favour of mine and Jake's 'relationship,' no one dates the loser kid.

But Luke, he was different. He wasn't just a loser kid, he had talent. He has the most beautiful voice I'd ever heard, and I was taken with it the second I heard it. I'd tried talking him into making videos on YouTube, and he'd only just started to oblige.

"It's fine, doll, I know you was teasing," he smiled genuinely at me, and my heart fluttered. It always seemed to when he smiled like that.. I barely managed to smile back, too distracted by my thoughts.

"Hey, that's not a smile," he scolded me playfully. "Smile properly, right now. One of your big, bold ones."

I shook my head, refusing him. I loved it when he got like this, all play full and sweet.  Luke pouted at me, and I pouted in return, still shaking my head.

He grabbed my face in his hands, stopping me mid-shake. "Please, babe, pretty pretty please?" He begged, and I felt that grin I'd been fighting start to grow on my features.

Luke bit down on his bottom lip, his gaze focused on my mouth as my smile grew and grew. "Just a little bit further... And there! There's that goofy grin I know and love!" He exclaimed, and I felt my smile grow even wider.

"Hey, Luke?" His gaze was still on my mouth and I felt nervous. But good nervous, like the build-up for a dip on a rollarcoster, or the nervousness you get when you see someone for the first time in forever.

"Yeah?" His gaze left my mouth and our gazes locked. I don't get why I seemed to be his only friend. He was beautiful; he had sparkling blue eyes, perfectly plump pink lips, a clearer complexion than half the school, and a voice to die for.

"Thanks for being here for me, even though you told me not to get with him, i did, and he hurt me, like you said he would, and you haven't pointed that our, or anything, so thank you," I broke eye contact with him for a second, looking down at our tangled legs on top of his covers.

"It's fine, I'll always be here for you, always. What are best friends for?" He chuckled light-heartedly.

I smiled once again, pulling him in for another long hug. He reached under me, pulling the covers over us, and then wrapping his arms around my waist.

"You're staying here tonight, I texted your mum before you came around, she's cool with it," he mumbled into my shoulder, and i relaxed against his chest.  I'd rather be here with him then anywhere else.
