"My thoughts are stars I cannot fathom into constellations."
-The fault in our stars, John Green
Riley's POV
It took me a while to remove the chewing gum from my hair. Thankfully, a lady near me was carrying hair oil and after applying lots of it, it finally came off. The side effects varied though. I was probably looking like a baboon by now, which I frequently looked so it didn't matter.
The station arrived and never in my life had I run so fast, not even in school marathon races. When the door opened, I was the first one to get out. Finally, I was out of this hell hole.
I immediately took out a lollipop from my bag and showed it off to the annoying little brat, smirking victoriously. For those who want to know why, yeah, I stole it from him. It was the only way to smack that little smirk of him. Hell, even doctor Lecter won't have these amazing skills of manipulating people like me.
But when his mom gave me that killer scrutinizing look like him, I immediately came to know that it was time to act like a responsible adult. I quickly changed the direction and started walking towards the exit of the station. I literally tripped in the attempt to move my completely stiffened body and that's when she catches me, my best friend.
I looked at her fragile body. Every time you see her, she looks the same. Just as cheerful as before. Hundreds of friends came into my life but there was this one girl, with a toothy grin and a high ponytail which offered me the only ketchup packet she had on the first day of school. There's this fact about best friends, they stay right there in your heart forever. No matter how many times you fight with them, for weeks you don't call them but deep in your heart you know that you love them and no one can take their place in your heart. Not even your fairy-tale lover boy.
And here she was, Violet Willows. The person who had my actual heart.
Both of us didn't utter a single word. We just stood there and hugged each other tightly for what seemed like eternity. Somewhere we knew that being quiet was better or else we would break down crying like old nannies. There was this comfortable silence which ensured that circumstances cannot separate us.
To describe Violet, she was the most amazing person I'd ever known. Being a professional artist, she was really busy nowadays and her paintings were quite famous in Boston. Sometimes I got jealous of the paintings because she loved them more than me. She had chocolate brown eyes, a perfect lean figure with light brown hair and a *to die for*sculpted face. If I were a guy, I'd surely fall for her.
"I missed you." I finally said.
"Mhhm....me too." She grinned. "Let's not waste time here. There's a surprise for you at home."
"Tell me... You know you want to." I smirked.
Mum has prepared your favourite chicken wings!"
"CHICKEN WINGS!!!!!" I gasped in front of everyone."Yes, chicken wings now let's go or else everyone would think you're crazy. Wait, you already are. How can I forget you were adoring a lollipop seconds ago."? She chuckled.
"Ughh, thanks to that kid. And I'm not crazy. I'll tell you all about these miserable days of my life when we reach home."
Just as we were about to leave the station, I felt a hand on my waist. It felt like a child's hand and I had a bad gut feeling for whose it was. Yeah, that annoying kid.
