"Nothing is more beautiful than a smile that has struggled through tears."

-Demi Lovato

Riley's POV

He kept staring at me intensely, as if to scan my brain and read my mind. My heartbeat rose for no reason whatsoever. He was probably thinking how much of a creep I was. First to bump into him in the supermarket and now to ruin his girlfriend's hair and dress and makeup and probably everything that he thought was real. His eyes scrutinized mine and those seconds felt like hours until a squeaky voice came out.

"I'm fine Babe. Just that this little bimbo up here pissed the hell out of me." She stated blankly. A smug smile creeped on her face.

Oh..so this is the girl he was buying condoms for. It is clear how demanding she is.

Wait, bimbo who??

"Well excuse me. Whoever you are, you don't have any right to say anything inappropriate like this to me here. I don't know if you have a hearing problem or something but I said sorry. If you still continue to abuse me I'll...." She broke my sentence.

"What will you do kiddo? Will you go and run to your daddy? Hey! Daddy! Daddy! Amanda Richards just insulted me " she mimicked a little girl and giggled. " ... Awww. I bet even your daddy won't be able to save you from me, you fucking slut." She smirked and spat.

My daddy?

Will he save me?

"Babe please calm down. What the hell happened here?" jerk asked.

"This bimbo poured her entire drink all over me. I was just going to the changing room when out of nowhere she comes running like a retarded person and pours this shit all over my fourteen thousand dollar dress. And I just got my hair done three days ago. You know how expensive my stylist is. I don't know what is wrong with this place to hire people like her" she turned towards me. "It is poorly educated girls like you who are degrading our society. Now if you have a little self respect left, then get the hell outta here." she spat.

"And then your daddy will come and say, 'dare if you hurt my little princess'" she mimicked a heavy voice and started laughing.

But he is gone.

Forever.

And he won't come back.

Ever.

I became completely teary. I didn't care whoever was watching me but I didn't even want to break down in front of others on my first day at work. I especially didn't want to give that bitch the satisfaction of hurting me where it hurt it most.

"Amanda, just stop it now. She's had enough. Let's leave this place now. We'll go somewhere else." the jerk said.

Why was he saving me?

"Zohac, people like her should be shown their worth. They think they're fucking goddesses to go around and harass people like me. Even the beggars on the streets would have better manners than this person."

The next thing I did was, I gathered my things without meeting anyone's eyes. Candice held my arm but I let go of it. I ran. I didn't think twice. I ran away from everything, from the reality, from the stress and from the truth that I was nothing more than a beggar. A beggar living in her Aunt's house. I ran as fast as I could and left the building, getting weird looks from Vanessa as I left. I didn't care where I was going. A tear threatened to fall but I controlled myself. 'Not here. Not in front of the world' I kept reminding myself. My walk came to a hault when I saw a park. I quickly went in. A few old couples were seated on the benches, children were playing hop scotch and a few teenage boys were scate-boarding. I spotted an empty swing in the corner and quietly sat down.
