"Some people just dream of success. While other people work to get it."

Riley's POV

I woke up with a chill, hearing the pleasant chirping of birds. IT WAS CHRISTMAAAAS!!!

I didn't care whether I was five or not. I stood on my bed holding my blanket in one hand and start singing 'jingle bells' swaying my arms and jumping on the bed. There was something about holidays. Just the air around made me feel like a plant freshly sprayed with water. And sometimes, a dry plant could use some quality water.

I quickly brushed, took a bath, put on my favourite baby pink sweatshirt that read 'I donut like you', yoga pants, my favourite pair of socks with little bunny ears and ran to the dining table where everyone was already seated, including my mom! Was I the only one who woke up late? Even Lily was fully ready.

"How was your journey?" I asked mom while hugging her.

"Merry Christmas to you too." She said. Not good, I guess.

"Morning Riley." Hazel said with a warm smile while handing me a cup of hot chocolate with some marshmallows.

"Finally, she woke up. Jeez, you don't even spare Christmas for you sleep." Violet rolled her eyes.

Why do people always target my sleep?

Like there are so many problems like global warming going on in the world. Greenhouse gases are increasing day by day. A lot of cross- border wars are going on and all you see is my long sleep?

And what was up with their mood on Christmas?

"What's up with you two? Having gases on Christmas?" I joked, getting sharp glares from both mom and Violet.

"We got pulled over for speeding. I requested Violet to let me drive and you know, it's been ten years so don't judge me for this but when I saw the police car following us..."

"She thought the accelerator was the brake." Violet finished. "It kind of led to a wild chase though. Lot of adrenaline." She added with a smug smile.

Oh my god. I missed it!

"Are you alright?" I held mom's hand.

"I'm just fine, girl. But look at yourself Riley, you look so thin!!"

Oh, so the rapid fire round begins in 3.......2......1

"Hazel told me you had hash browns.

Did you puke again?

Did your head hurt too much?

Oh please, did you put a mosquito in Violet's mouth?

Did you watch too much of Pokémon again?

Don't tell me you ate a mosquito?"

Moms will be moms forever.

That's when I noticed that someone was missing. Zohac wasn't here, yet.

After a round of chachacha session with mom, I finally got to eat my favourite Christmas Breakfast which was oh so mouth-watering.

"So, where's Zohac? Is he still sleeping with his teddy bear?" I asked the question which was eating my head for ten minutes while faking a laugh.

"He left early this morning. Apparently, there's this whopping Christmas function in their hotel today. A bunch of those fancy businessmen are going to be there with their families. Xavier is so careless. He should've told the poor boy earlier!" Hazel exclaimed.
