A/N: Here it is everyone! Emma's first chapter!!! I don't know who's more excited about it. Me or you guys? Anyways, of course some of the characters I don't own. You all get the gist so here's chapter 1:
Nora's POV:
After a long night of telling Emma all about kindergarten, I was finally able to get some sleep while Patch was taking her to school. Both of us agreed not to tell Emma about her heritage until she was old enough to understand.
I wish we could be out front with her, but since she's only five we figured that she should stay young and lead the life of a normal little girl. Emma is a lot like her dad, reserved and cautious. She speaks her mind when she wants to, but also knows when to be quiet.
When Emma first learned how to talk for the first time, the first thing she said was angel. She would always point at Patch and say angel. After doing that she would run up to him and hug him.
She has a knack for figuring out who is an angel and who isn't. She sometimes would run up to me and say half angel. And she would throw her arms up for me to pick her up. That was when she was first learning to walk and talk.
Now however she would stay up until one of us have stayed with her and put her asleep. She's a handful, but we all love her. We stayed in London, so that we can be near Vee and Scott.
Vee and Scott adopted a little Nephilim boy. He's seven, but he and Emma are the best of friends. When they first met, Emma hid behind Patch knowing that everyone was practically afraid of Patch.
I was looking out the kitchen window drinking coffee when Patch walked in. I turned to see him leaning on the door frame, "How did she do?"
Patch smiled, "She wouldn't let me go. But, when the teacher came to get her, she eventually let me go."
I cocked an eyebrow, "What did the teacher say?"
Patch smiled, "She said that they were coloring." I smiled. Emma loved coloring. If she didn't have a coloring book she would scream to the point of almost breaking glass.
Emma's POV:
I sat in a blue chair looking at the other kids coloring outside the lines. I shrugged and started drawing inside the lines.
My teacher came up beside me and complimented me on my picture. She pointed to the people, "Who are they?"
I smiled and pointed to each of the stick figures, "This is me! This is my Mommy and Daddy. This is my Nanna. This is my Aunt Vee and Uncle Scottie. Then this is Nick." My teacher ruffled my hair and went on to the next kid.
I frowned and fixed my hair. A kid walked up behind me and said, "That's a cool picture."
I turned in my chair to look at the kid. I shrugged, "It's just my family. Nothing special."
The kid nodded and held out his hand, "I'm Alex. Want to be friends?"
I nodded, "Yeah! I'm Emma. Want to color with me?"
He nodded eagerly. We sat there for the rest of the school day coloring and playing outside. We both waited for our parents to get us from our classroom. Alex and I played with building blocks until I heard someone say Alex. We both looked up to see a woman with light brown hair. Her eyes were sky blue.
Alex looked at me and said, "That's my Mommy."
I nodded and went back to playing. That was until Alex came back to hug me and my Daddy called my name. We both looked up to see my Daddy looking at us. I got to my feet and ran over to where my book bag was.
I walked with Alex to where our parents were. Alex gave me a big hug and angled my head so that I can see my Daddy's face. His face did not look happy. I let go of Alex and ran to my Daddy. He picked me up in one swift motion and we left my school.
I glanced over his shoulder and saw Alex holding his mommy's hand.
That night both Mommy and Daddy tucked me in. They both told me a bed time story. Before they left my room I asked, "Mommy? Daddy? When are you going to tell me a story about angels?"
Mommy and Daddy looked at each other and Daddy asked, "What kind of angel story do you want to hear?" He came back and sat on my bed.
I shrugged, "I don't know Daddy. Can you tell me about them? Like why their wings are invisible?" Daddy's eyes widened in surprise but then went back to normal.
He held my hand in his, "What do you mean, Emma?"
I looked at Mommy and her hand was over her mouth. I looked back at Daddy, "I believe that there are angels all around us. We each have Guardian Angels, Daddy. I believe that you are mine and Mommy's Guardian Angel, because you watch over us and don't let us get hurt. The angels don't want other people to know that they are angels. That is why they hide their wings."
Daddy ruffled my hair, "That's a good reason why we can't see angels' wings. I guess that's why you can't see mine then huh, Emma?"
I nodded and smiled, "Yeah!"
Mommy and Daddy stood by the door and turned out the lights and told me goodnight. I fell asleep and dreamt about meeting an angel.
A/N: And ladies and gentlemen! The first chapter of Emma's story is complete! I can't wait to get good ideas on how to start the second chapter. Feel free to review on what you want to see.
