A/N: I'm back writing again! I've had a writer's block, but hopefully I'm over it. Anyways here's chapter 4:
Emma's POV:
I brought my sword up in a defensive arc to keep from being cut. My dad backed away and came at me again. I parried and attempted to stab at him. However I somehow let an opening slip and my dad took it. He managed to steal my sword from me and take me to the ground. He had the tip of his sword at my neck and my sword on the ground beside me.
I reached out and grabbed my sword. I somehow managed to move out from under his sword's blood thirsty tip and continue the dual. Trainings like this happened every day from the time I finished my homework to the time supper was ready. And on Saturdays and Sundays, it would be close combat and gun training.
It was Friday afternoon. And sometime this evening, Uncle Scott and Aunt Vee would be coming over for dinner with Nick and Kelly.
They knew about what I was and what their parents were. Nick is actually a Nephilim, and Kelly is a hybrid like me except she doesn't have archangel blood in her. Kelly found out a little earlier than me. But I understand now that my parents tried to give me a normal life until it came time for me to train.
Dad told me pretty much everything about what I had to do when I was thirteen. I'm fourteen now. And I have about four months until my birthday. I had to be ready to lead a war against all of hell. My father would be at my side while I had to kill Lucifer.
I know, how am I supposed to kill the devil? I honestly don't know yet. I'm still working on it. Everything that Dad is teaching me, I'll need for when the Devil brings on the Apocalypse.
I countered yet another attack from Dad, when I heard ringing in my ears. Whenever the ringing it meant that someone was attempting to get inside my heavily guarded mind. Dad had taught me how to put up the mind blocks and leave them there so no outside mind can pry.
The ringing got louder and I winced. I ignored the ringing sensation and went on with the fight. Dad sent a stab towards me and I leapt backwards. The ringing seemed to get much louder and painful the longer I spared with my dad. After a minute or so I dropped my sword and landed on my knees with my hands against my ears.
I screamed as someone started to take my mental walls down one by one. And they were doing it the hard way. I didn't see my Dad run to my side and hold me. Hell I didn't even feel his touch. All I could feel was his presence. I eventually felt my mother's presence at my side along with my father's.
With each passing moment the pain got more excruciating. I must've eventually blacked out from the pain, because all I could remember was my vision slowly fading to black.
Patch's POV:
I was about to move in for another attack when Emma dropped her sword and fell to her knees. Her hands were at her ears. I dropped my own sword and ran to her side. I touched her hand and immediately felt her pain. I felt all of it.
The amount of pain almost knocked me over. I contacted Nora through mindspeak and told her to get to Emma.
Nora ran outside with record timing and she had her hand over mine. She gasped when she took some of the pain from Emma and myself. The three of us shared Emma's pain, while Emma screamed in pain.
I felt Scott's presence as soon as he landed. He ran over to us and placed his index finger on Emma's forehead. She immediately passed out and fell into my arms. I looked from Nora and Scott and nodded.
I picked my baby girl up and carried her bridal style to her room. I sat there with her until Nora quietly came in. I stood from desk chair I placed next to her bed. Nora took my place and spoke to me via mindspeak, 'Scott told me what was happening to her. Go talk to him, I'll be here with Emma. I'll be with her mentally and physically. That way nothing can touch her mind, while she restores it.'
I nodded in agreement and left the room. I shut the door quietly behind me and met with Scott in the barn. He was petting Nora's horse when I found him.
He turned and faced me. He had a very concerned and worried expression that made me uneasy.
I gulped in realization, "They're trying to attack her mentally. Since she's being trained, they're either going to attempt to turn Emma to their side or they're going to kill her," I began to pace. I didn't like how this was going. No one puts their hands on my baby girl. No one. If they do, they're dead, "It's either they have a weapon and we don't or none of us have a weapon. To them that's what they see my daughter as. To the other archangels she's often referred to as a blight of nature like the Nephilim or she's their salvation. If the demons get a hold of baby Em, no force on Heaven or Hell could possibly save her, but herself."
Scott nodded. He coughed and said, "That's what they're planning. It's how I go here so quickly. I got jolted here as soon as it got bad. Emma fed me some of her pain. I got a few glimpses of what was going on, but the damage was not like anything I had ever seen. To her it felt like someone was strategically placing dynamite in the right places to blow up her defenses. She needs extra protection."
I nodded in agreement, "What if I withdraw her from public school and tutor her. Nora and I have flexible work schedules. Besides, it's not like I don't have over a hundred thousand in the bank from when I first started working."
Scott's expression went from worried and concerned to intrigued in a matter of seconds. I shrugged and petted my own horse. I really didn't like the conclusion that I had come to, but it seemed to be the most logical reason.
A/N: And we get to see the perspective of Daddy Patch. I knew that eventually you would've asked for a POV of one of the adults so I figured let's do it now. So there you have it and the next chapter should be up soon.
