The Enderlox Trilogy III: Seto's Triumph

F O U R: The Stitching of the Veins

HEELLO!!

I'm not usually one  for author's notes, as I'm sure you've noticed. This is the first  pre-chapter one in the whole trilogy. I just wanted to let you know that  this chapter is weird. Like, gross-weird, or disturbing-weird. I  wouldn't say it's super graphic, but I'm just warning you about it's  weirdness. It's inspired by a nightmare I had when I was little, if  that's explanation enough. Anyway, just thought I'd let you know.

***SETO'S POV***

The second we get into  town I vanish. If the townspeople could see me if they'd probably riot.  Maybe they'd think my death was a cover up, maybe they'd try to kill me.  It wouldn't work if they tried, but I definitely do not want to hurt  anyone. The fact of the matter is, I can't stay dead forever. They built  a statue for Notch's sake! We're going to have to tell them eventually,  but now is not that time. We've got work to do. For the moment I can  turn myself invisible and wait it out. Right now, the problem is Jerome.  People are going to think differently about him now. He's going to  attract attention we don't need on us. When that man comes up and says  hello to him, I can see the awkwardness and practically feel the  discomfort. However, it ends well, and we continue on to SkyBase.

We arrive at the base  and the first person we see is Quentin. I get that glimmering in my  sorcerer eyes, not that anybody notices, considering the fact I'm still  invisible. I grab Quentin from behind, yanking on his business suit and  pulling him into Sky's office. Then Quentin starts to freak out, of  course. He starts kicking and screaming, his Mudkip limbs flapping  around. He looks just like with Ssundee calls him to piss him off. A  Mudflapper.

Quentin sits there,  confused and nervous until Sky walks into the office followed by  everybody else. Sky starts laughing and that makes Quentin freak out  even more. Then I decide I should probably materialize and I turn myself  visible again. Then Quentin screams again, only it's a scream of  happiness. He hugs me and just sort of sits there for a little while  until I have to push him away.

"How you doing, fish?" I ask Quentin.

"You really gonna make that joke, huh?" He replies. Then he smiles. "Good to see you, man. It's certainly been awhile."

We have a roughly  fifteen-minute conversation about everything that happened while we were  gone and everything that is going to happen once we got some of the  others. Then Quentin goes to get Nooch and Woof.

Nooch seems to be the  most excited about this mission. Unless Sky changed his position, he  should still be working with Seth (SethBling) in redstone security,  which means he hardly ever leaves the base. That probably explains the  excitement. Woof (Woofless) is a field worker like Quentin, so they're  always going out on adventures, but even they are shocked by this task.  Saving the world? It's crazy! We fight squids, not Nether Mobs. This is  bound to be interesting.

Nooch, Woof, Quentin and  Solace all gear up for the mission, as do we. It takes us a couple  hours, but after a restock on supplies and a well-deserved meal, we're  ready to go. We put our things away and get some rest, setting out at  dawn for the teleportation to the mountains.

***ASHLEY'S POV***

We've been walking for  ages, and all that's on my mind is when I can go back to normal. The  dragon spoke to me, told me I had to wait until this mission was  complete, but what if this mission isn't successful? What will happen  then? I certainly don't want to die like this. To be buried in a coffin  specially made for a dragon mutant is horrifying to think about.

I walk on either way, when my feet get tired I spread my wings and glide along, riding on air currents and relaxing myself.

I also get some time to  talk with Nooch, Woof, Quentin and Solace. I remember from my dream that  after Ty died I was good friends with these three, and now I see why.  They're really nice, funny, totally casual and well, really excitable.  That's something I love about people and it's one one of the reasons I  like them so much.
