Chapter 24

Ben POV

"RIIINNNNNGGGGGG!!!!"

Well this scene looks familiar.

"Ugh..." I reached out to the nightstand, snoozed the annoying clock.

"Time for school!" Granny barged in my room.

"Okay granny..." I said lifelessly.

I rubbed my face, my feet feels icy cold.  I dragged my feet to the bathroom, splashed my face with cold water. I looked up at the mirror and saw a string of mucus stuck on my cheeks horizontally.

"Ew..." I said with my morning voice.

I wiped it off and sniffed.

This is one of those lazy days. I literally have no energy to go to school or work, I don't even want to move a single inch. Bruno Mars' 'Lazy song' really suits my mood today.

I showered and dressed, went down for breakfast. Pancakes lifts up my mood a little, at least I have some energy to move my legs.

"I'm going now granny, see you tonight!" I mustered every energy I have to shout.

Once I've opened the door, a gush of cold air hit my face, making my face froze in place. I closed back the door and got my jacket before stepping out of the house, braving the cold wind.

"This is the worst day ever." I mumbled into my jacket.

After this whole three weeks living in LA, studying in a new school is a disaster. I have no friends, no one was here for me. Even Gregory left me for Janice, that son of a bitch.

Without Andrew, my life hasn't been worse. I've been living like a walking dead, I have no motivation of life. The only thing that kept me moving was my one and only hope, my little Jasper. And yeah, I've named him Jasper, Jasper Kingsley. I've been debating of whose last name should I use, mine or Andrew's? In the end I decided to use his, just to let Jasper know he has a daddy, just to remind me the love we had.

I personally think I've gotten over him, I must get over him in order to continue living. I don't even expect to love again, I want to keep him as my first and last love.

I hardly survived over the school time and head on to my work place. I'm considering quitting school and focusing on my work, just to earn more money. Money money money... I now know how stressful being an adult is. Kids, don't ever want to grow up quickly.

"Hey Mrs Chang." I pushed the cafe door open.

"Hi Ben. You're always on time." Mrs Chang is my superior, she's the owner of this cafe.

"I still wish to keep this job." I chuckled.

"You're a good boy. Your granny said you're responsible, I just have to see it myself." She smiled.

"You flattered me." I blushed.

"How about this, if you work as full time I'll double your pay, but you can still work as part time I'm just giving you another option." She patted my shoulder.

"Well I would love to but I need sometime to think." I purses my lips.

"Take your time. The offer is always available for you." She smiled and went into the kitchen.

The offer was really tempting. How I wish I could earn more but it doesn't work that way. I still have school, a certificate to study for, I need it for my future. Life struggles.

"Hi. Welcome to Moonlight Cafe. May I have your order?" I said as I saw a couple walked in the cafe.

"Yes. Can I get a cappuccino and latte?" The guy said.
