[2] Well Hello!

As I walked into the dinning room I saw Sapphire sitting on Balin's lap. With the absence of Thorin, of the moment, he took the fatherly role in her life.

"Mommy!!!!" She yelled as she saw me. I bent down and picked her up. "Balin said I could start training next month!!!!! Can you believe it?"

"No I can't! Are you excited?"

"Very much so mama!" She frowned.

"What's wrong?"

"Do you think daddy would be happy?" It looked like she was about to cry. I knew she missed Thorin, hell I did. "I miss him mama!" She started to cry. Everyone looked at us, Balin got up and walked over to me.

"Take her we understand."

"Thank you." He simply smiled and nodded. I walked out of the room with my crying baby in my hands.

I don't want to say this happens a lot, but it's a good amount. I knew the pain she was in, she lost both of her birth parents. Then she 'lost' someone who said they would care for her even though they didn't have too.

In that short amount of time she knew Thorin, she became attached to him in a way I would never understand. With the way she is with Kili and Balin, I think that she would have been a daddy's girl if Thorin was here.

Sapphire stopped crying and I knew she had cried herself to sleep. It was getting late for her. That could also be playing a big part with her mood swings.

I felt weight land on my shoulder. I turned to see Alduin.

"Is this one of the little ones?" He asked looking down at Sapphire.

"Yes, and it's good to have you and Thalia back."

"Its good to be back! Although many of the people are........"

"Watch it Alduin! These are my people." We strolled into my bedroom. I gently set Sapphire down in the bed and I headed off to do paperwork.

After signing hundreds of papers, writing about thirty letters .I decided I was done. Although there was still things I needed to do. I would just do them tomorrow.

As I was about to go to bed there was a knock at my door. It was late and I was wondering who would need me at this time.

I opened the door to see someone I didn't expect to see at all. Standing before me was Fili. FILI!!!!!

"Fili?" I asked.

"The one and only." I could tell it hurt him to talk. Ushering him inside I gave him my cup of tea.

"Drink up." He did as he was told. I stayed silent as I watched him.

His eyes were a darker green and there was a hit of gold in them. You could tell his body was stronger. Although dwarves usually had built body's. There was a slight difference. Then his hair a shiny to it. Not that it was important. But I needed to make sure I didn't skip over anything.

"So Fili how do you feel?"

"Different." I laughed lightly. "I couldn't walk for ten minutes. Then when I did, it didn't feel like I was. Then I feel really discussed by something."

"Oh that would be the gold. You'll get use to it."

"Wait so I'm a dwarve that hates gold?" He looked surprised.

"Actually Fili your a dragon-born now. Once your soul combined with the Dragons your turned into my kind."

"So it did work?"

"From what I see yes. You don't care for gold, your hair is shiny, eyes darker and have a gold tint to them. Finally your body is more built."

"Okay so why do we hate gold? I thought Dragons loved gold."

I got up and pulled a book from the shelf. Opening it to the page I gave it to Fili. "A Golden Hatred?" He asked.

"It says that when the two souls combine something changes. Dragons lived all their life chasing after gold, or loving it-"

"So why live the other part still chasing it?" He put two and two together.

"Excatly!!! But it doesn't exactly go into detail with it. But our people where created to protect the life's of all the other races. Without us the would be killed by the souls."

"Where does this leave us now?"

"Well unless dragons are killed, we only need to worry about kids or if one of us dies."

"I thought you said we couldn't die!"

"We can't only in dragon form. From what I take it you got Smaug's soul so you should be a gold dragon. We won't know until you change. Adding to that we will start training next month. I should be free more often then."

"The baby?" He asked.

"They will be alright. It won't harm them if your wondering." He smiled at that.

"Thorin says your doing great." He said, I looked up at him. "Before I woke up in saw him. Told me to tell you that. Also that he misses you dearly."

Fili's POV

There was more he had told me. But I couldn't tell her. It would break her heart. But he was proud of all the work she was doing and has been doing.

I know he's not to happy with my mom at this time. Apperntly my mom wasn't believe a word Laci has been telling her. So he sent me back, here to prove to my mother that Laci isn't lying. I was pretty upset with my mother as well. And I was excited to show her that she was wrong.

I have to say I was pretty excited to start my new life. I mean how cool will it be to turn into a dragon.

Then it popped into my mind. "Laci?"

"Yes?" She asked. She was currently changing Sapphire's clothes.

"Did my mom say anything about the baby?" She looked up from her spot.

"No, but she didn't seem interested if you know what I mean."

"Do you think she believes you?"

"Honestly I don't know. I hope she does I wish for her to be a part in their lifes. Now get some rest, we have a big day tomorrow!"

"I've slept for a three months. I think I'm good!" I laughed.

"Fine! But I'm going to bed. You are welcome to read more about who you have and will become." She said and laid down next to Sapphire. I strolled over and got a book.

It looked interesting and it had pictures so it would entertain me for sometime.
