Its been sometime since Bilbo arrived and Sapphire has been attached to him. The only time that girl leaves him alone is when she goes to class, sleeps or she has to take a bath. Other than that she is right next to him, talking his ear off. I'm so surprised she attached herself to him. I mean she is close to Fili, but not this close. Sapphire was almost killing Bilbo in a way.

"Sapphire, go get dressed." I yelled at her, with a huff she got off of Bilbo and head up to her room.

"I'm sorry she's being so.....attached. She's never like this, I don't know how you ever put up with her." I was moving around the kitchen while I was talking to him. Until I heard a laugh.

"I could ask you the same. You are her mother. From what I remember you adopted her." A small smile formed on my lips. I remember that day all to well, she's my life now.

But my smile fell, Sapphire would remember her father. The new baby will only have words to remember him by.

I think Bilbo realized my sudden mood change and got up from his chair. "Your worried he won't wake up."

"I'm afraid so, the baby will be here any day. And still there's no sign of him waking up." I looked down at my hands. "I'll be alone again, or I will die."

Bilbo quickly walked over to me and grabbed my hands. "You will not die, not on my account." I smiled at him. But little did he know there is no choice.

If Thorin dies, I will either live on in pain or I will die. If fate chooses me to die then I must. No one can avoid it, not even me.

Soon Sapphire came down in her training clothes and bounced happily over to Bilbo and I. Handing her a lunch, I set her off with Bilbo to her lessons. Once they left I felt a slight kick and I knew I needed to leave for a bit.

With that I grabbed my weapons and headed down to the river, for a good day. But little did I know it wouldn't turn out like I expected it to.

Thorin POV

I felt pain, pain that I wouldn't even think I could have.

I felt angry, upset, broken and surprised. But then it felt like someone was stabbing me in the heart over and over again.

I couldn't hear or see any thing. It's scared me not to. Either Fili, Laci or Sapphire would be talking to me. They never left me alone for to long.

I began to try to open my eyes. I couldn't take this pain any longer. But my eyes failed me as I tried to.

I tried and failed many other times before I saw a soft bright light. Scared to close my eyes again, I left my eyes open and waited for them to adjust.

Once they did I was surprised to see that I was in a library. I chuckled once the thought of Laci came to me. She loved to read and learn new things.

That's why I was never alone.

I got off the table I was on. At first I had to hang on to the table, but once the blood circulated through my legs. I walked towards the door.

I remembered that Laci once told me, they would have meetings everyday in the Hall of Kings so that's where I was heading.

I didn't hear to much communication as I approached the door. It was quiet, and the only voice I heard was Filis.

But I didn't heard what he was saying because I was set on one thing.

Laci

When the door opened everyone looked at me. Some surprised, others had fear.

"Thorin?" I heard a soft voice. Almost so soft like they have been crying. I scanned the room and found my sister.

It was weird to me that I could see her face as clear as day or better. I could notice details that I couldn't before.

Her hair was all over the place. Like she had started her day without getting ready. Her eyes were blood shot. I quickly looked to the others and saw that they looked the same.

"L-Laci?" I questioned. My voice cracked due to it being dry. "Where is she? I must see her."

"Thorin-"

"DADDY!!!" I smiled at the familiar voice that filled my ears. I turned and saw Sapphire running towards me.

I noticed that she was dressed in training clothes. Her hair was down and a small wooden sword rested on her hips.

When she got to me she jumped in my arms and hugged me like she never wanted to let go ever again.

It was weird that I could smell the lavender coming from her. Then salt and dirt was mixed in. It was weird I could pick over everything.

I noticed Fili next to me and smiled at him.

"Weird isn't it?" I gave him a look.

"How you can see better. Smell everything and hear everything, even things from miles away."

"Yes, but I don't know why." I replied. He frowned and looked into the hall.

"I guess I should explain. You and I, well we are Dragon-borns now. Laci gave us souls to save us. You talked to me and told me I needed to come back. So I did and I learned a thing or too."

"I remember telling you to come back, but I don't remember her saving us."

"You will." He smiled lightly. I looked around him and to the table. But I didn't see her. I think Fili noticed and sighed.

"I guess you should know something else." He paused, I think he was trying to find the right words.

I looked down at Sapphire. She rested her head on my chest once Fili and I started talking.

Then Fili quietly said two words that I could only hear.

"Laci's missing"
