Ch. 22 It's over

Violet POV

The possessed Lucy had grabbed me and lifted me 50 feet off the ground. I was terrified of heights and so paralysed that I couldn't even scream or struggle. All I could do was stare at possessed Lucy in fear.

I felt like my world was going to end and fade out but then something worse happened. Lucy let go of me and I was falling. My stomach dropped and I closed my eyes. I swear I saw my life flash before my eyes and I braced myself for impact and death but that never came. Instead I was caught mid air by a pair of strong arms and then we landed in the ground. I looked up to see my savoir, my eyes widened to see that it was Natsu...

He looked at me with sympathetic eyes. "Are you ok?" he asked as he set me down. I nodded, not able to do anything else as Rogue and Lukas rushed over to me from somewhere asking me if I was ok. I brushed them off and stared at Natsu. He seemed like a totally different person than the one who hurt Lucy so bad. I couldn't really believe what I had just experienced.

I shook off the feeling of terror I just had and replaced it with a feeling of confidence. ALthough Natsu and the others looked really tired, they were still determined. However, things didn't look good. Even though everyone had given their best efforts to stop possessed Lucy, she only had a few scratches. I jumped into the fray and started to attack some more.

I saw Sting, Rogue and Natsu near me and we all shared a look. We all stood together and looked to Lucy. "ROAR OF THE FIRE-WHITE-STAR-SHADOW DRAGON!" We all shouted. A really bright light and a deafening explosion clouded my senses. I flew backs few feet from the recoil and I heard a big 'Thump' and Lucy was on the ground.

This was our chance! Raina hurriedly cast another binding spell on possessed Lucy and the girl Levy put extra reinforcement just in case and someone else put Lucy in a sleeping state as Raina tried the ancient spell again. I saw Lukas walking towards Raina out of the corner of my eye to talk about how to get Lucy back but I walked to Lisanna. She was sitting away from everybody else, crying. I went to go talk to her "Hey there..." I said as I sat next to her.

Lisanna didn't even look up but she responded, "O-oh it's y-you. L-lucy's f-friend. I-I know you're probabl-y terrified for Lucy but so am I... I feel like this was a-all my fault, I should have tried harder to include and defend Lucy b-but I was too w-weak and I-I just feel horrible." she sobbed.

I placed a reassuring hand on her shoulder and she looked up to meet my eyes. I just gave her a warm smile then hugged her.

"Lucy's going to come back, don't worry." I said with tears starting up in my eyes.

Lucy POV

After floating for a while, I was still in my dark prison but it was weird.  I could now hear little voices coming from somewhere. "Is the spell working this time?" I heard Violet ask and I tried to call her name. "Violet? Can you hear me?" no response, "Violet! It's me please!" I tried again a bit more desperate. 

I then felt my hand start to tingle, and... glow? My eyes widened in surprise as my had started to flake away and disappear. My whole body started to flow and flake too. I closed my eyes and when I reopened them, I was outside. Violet was staring right at me and I gasped. "V-Violet!" I cried.

I ran to violet to give her a hug but my arms went right through Violet. My eyes widened. "Lucy?" Violet asked, "I can hear you but I can't see you! Where are you? Raina's spell must have worked!"

I took a few steps back as tears started to form in my eyes. "I'm right in front of you Violet... Can't you see me?" There was silence and everyone's eyes widened. "T-the spell didn't completely work" Raina muttered and she ran her hands in her head, tears falling. "I-I'm so sorry Lucy..." I looked around to see an older version of Violet that must have been Raina. I then turned to Violet and my stomach immediately took a turn.

Her hair covered her eyes but you could see the trails of hot tears streaming down her face. I reached out to comfort Violet but something stopped me. I took another look around to see everyone so sad, hurt and in pain. I couldn't take it anymore. Everyone was suffering because of me and I was going to fix that, no matter the cost.

I finally understood that there was only one option to saving everyone from this pain.

Time.
