Ch. 12 How do you love?

"Um...Who are you?"

Lucy POV

My heart skipped a beat... "Um...Who are you?" The words echoed through my brain. Violet didn't remember who I was. I looked up at Violet hoping that it was all a cruel joke but her face had a very confused expression on it.

I didn't know what to say or what to do so I ran... I ran through the doors, out of the cottage, out into the forest, out of Violet's sight. Tears stung my eyes as I ran as far way as I could from Violet.

Violet POV

I looked around to see Rogue, Sting and Raina! But there was another person that I didn't recognize. She looked a little bit familiar but I couldn't remember who she was. I finally decided to ask her who she was. "Um...Who are you?" I asked

When I asked the question, the person looked shocked. Fear and despair were written all over the person's face and she took a step backwards. She then bolted out the door and I heard a slam of the front door outside.

I looked back to Rogue, Sting, and Raina who also were staring at me with shock. "What?" I asked.

"Please tell me that was just a joke." Said Sting with a pained look on his face.

Rogue and Raina looked at me with worry faces. I just gave them a blank and confused stare and then it finally sunk into them.

I couldn't remember that person. She seemed so familiar though. "Um... Rogue, who was that?" I cautiously asked.

"You really don't know?" He asked. I nodded my head and he sighed. "That Violet, was like your other Onee-San. Her name is Lucy and she was very worried about you. She was the one who looked for you every day and night when you disappeared. She also was the one who saved you when you were lost and hurt."

I disappeared? "Wait...Did SHE come back and take over me" I asked very nervously. Rogue looked sad but then nodded. Tears welled up in my eyes and I thought of what trouble I could have caused. "Why did she come back? Didn't she already get her revenge?" I whispered

"I don't know" said Raina as she sat next to me and hugged me. I started to sob. I knew that the last time I was possessed, I had caused so much pain and bloodshed. To think that it might repeat again was just too much.

I eventually drifted off into sleep in Raina's arms.

Back to Lucy POV

I had ran away to a little stream in the forest. I sat down and started cry. Why did Violet have to lose her memories of me?! She was the little girl who brought a bigger and brighter future to me when Fairytail forgot about me too. I couldn't lose Violet, not her too.

It seems like everyone that I have loved forgot or left me. Momma, Dad, Natsu, Fairytail, and now Violet. "Why? WHY?" I yelled and looked up and got up "I thought there would be no harm done to violet" I said to no one.

A piece of paper hit my face and I opened it. Inside, it said:

I never said there wouldn't be any side affects.

I ripped the paper and screamed in frustration.

"HOW DO YOU LOVE SOMEONE?!" I yelled again at the air. "IT SEEMS LIKE EVERYONE I LOVE OR LOVED GOES AS FAST AS I BLINK AND I ALWAYS GET HURT OR THEY END UP GETTING HURT!!!" I picked up a rock and threw it in the river.

I got up and started to walk around the forest. 'what if Violet never remembers me?' The question was etched into my mind. All I needed to do was be nice to Violet but not care for her that much right? No... that would be selfish of me.

I tried to clear my mind of everything. As I walked through the forest, the wind blew through and I started to sing.

~When all our tears have reached the sea

The days keep coming without fail

You'll find better love strong as it ever was

Deep as the river runs, warm as the morning sun

I closed my eyes and started to walk to who knows where. When I opened my eyes, I found that I was standing I front of the old cottage where Violet was. How long have I been wandering around? Maybe 3 or 2 hours? Whatever.

'Instead of shunning Violet I should help her regain her memories and be strong so I can protect her' I thought to myself.

I slowly opened the door to the cottage and walked in. I quietly walked into the room where Violet was and took a deep breath. I twisted the knob of the door was walked in to see a crying Violet.

Big fat tears rolled down her rosy cheeks as Raina tried to comfort her. I looked to Sting an Rogue, an they motioned me to Violet. Raina looked up to me and got up from the bed Violet was in.

She motioned for me to sit next to Violet. I took Raina place and hugged Violet. Violet looked up at and and cried even harder.

"I-I'm so s-sorry b-b-but I'm t-trying so hard to r-remember you. R-rogue told me t-that we w-were very c-close and it m-must be very h-hard for you!" Stuttered Violet who was still crying very hard.

"Shh... It's ok Violet, don't cry it's going to ok. We are all going to help you remember and defeat Shera." I said while patting Violet's head. Violet nodded and looked up at me.

"This will be a new start for both of us."
