I sighed as I glanced at the clock across from me atop my dresser. 3:09 AM. Oh wait, 3:10 AM. Grumbling, I stumble from my bed and into my bathroom. It's been this way mostly ever since she left me.
Her name was Dahlia, but I don't talk of her memory much anymore. It hurts.

Dahlia had a thing about leaving notes with times on them. 3:09 AM. It's the time in which I once found her cheating on me, and also the time she addressed her note of absence.

'I'm sorry.' Of course you were; I scoffed at my thoughts. I gazed back at myself in the cold glass of the basin mirror. I enraged myself. I wanted nothing more than to merely destroy my reflection – perhaps even, myself.

I returned my looks to the bathroom sink and stared into the depths of the plughole as I splashed my face with water.

What have I become? I'm really not sure who I am anymore. Dahlia changed me for the better, and then left me to degrade. I wince softly at my thoughts. Everything simply reminds me of what her and I had once had.
It was glorious; at least, what I remember of it after the days I spent mourning her lingering non-existence.

Jogging downstairs, I entered the living room. Leilani was sat there once more, just watching the leaves flutter in the wind outside.

"You know," I started, "The best view is upstairs in the attic. It has a gigantic window. Your mother always used this big word for that window... What was it? Hmm, oh, um, I think it was 'leviathan'." I laughed. "What kind of a word is that?"

A smile grew on her face, and she laughed quietly too.

"Come on, I'll show you the constellations." Speaking, I led her up into the attic and pulled the long black curtain back from the large window.
Ejecting my discomfort with the memories, I reassembled the pieces of our large astronomical telescope. It was black and silver, the words 'Sky-Watcher' written on its side. I braced it near the window, and set up the scopes, showing Leilani where to look.

She grinned as I named the constellations and showed her all the best places in the town. Including the best pizzeria, but of course, I'll probably use it more that she ever will.
