A million thoughts were going through Zero's mind. What could Kaname want to talk about with him
about? As he was thinking of many possible outcomes he noticed that Kaname lead him outside. Zero could feel the cool air against his warm skin. the chirping of crickets, leaves rusting in the breeze, and the splash of water from what seemed like a water fountain.
All the sounds formed an orchestra together. The water as percussion, the rustling leaves were the brass and woodwind section, and the crickets were the strings. Zero could feel his worries slip away from him for a little. He never noticed that Kaname and him had stopped moving.Kaname's Point of View
"Zero, there is something important I need to ask you."
I noticed that he didn't answer me.
"Zero?"
He must be lost in thought or nervous. Oh, his cheeks are still a bit red. Maybe the air will cool him down a bit. But then again, he looks adorable with that embarrassed look he has. Should I wake him from his thoughts? I'll leave him like this for a while longer.
Zero's Point of View
Wow. I know that I will never hear something like this. I like going outside, almost every night in my bedroom window. I get to hear all kinds of music being created with just nature. Music that is created but can be heard once in a life time. Yesterday was different and so will be tomorrow. When I was first learning how to play the cello I had a really hard time with everything about music. So my mom taught me this trick, to create your own music with the sounds of nature. Since then I was able to actually play. What am I doing out here again? It has something to do with Kaname. Oh no! I completely spaced off.
"Oh!" I completely snapped out of my thoughts.
'"Is something the matter, Zero?"
"I'm really sorry I didn't mean to daze off like that."
"That's alright. You seemed like you were in a nice place. Tell me, where were you?'How do I answer?
"Can you hear the notices around us?"
"Yes.." Kaname answered.
"Ok. Umm... first close your eyes. Imagine each noise as their own unique instrument separately. Then combine them together to form an orchestra playing a song from your heart. We both might not be hearing the same thing or the same instruments. But that's ok."I can't tell what he's thinking. Does he think its a stupid idea? Well, it's not really for everyone. My mom said only people who can feel music with their hearts and not their brains can truly imagine there own music.
"Zero?" I hear Kaname ask. After what seemed like almost ten minutes.
"Yes?" I answered back.
"I am taken aback, I have never knew about it. Whenever I usually hear noises outside I usually just ignore them. But this. It's truly amazing."I don't know how to answer that. He actually like it. it makes me kind of happy.
"Really? I'm glad you do. Everyday is a knew song. Each day will never be the same."
"That is beautiful. How did you learn this?"
"I learned it from my mom. She was the one who taught me the cello."
"Wow she sounds amazing."
"She was."
"Hmm Was?"Great. I really don't want to answers that question. It's not that she's dead or anything, but... Might as well answer part of the truth.
"Oh. I meant to say is. Sorry about the confusion."
"Oh." Kaname answered sounding unconvinced."To get back on topic there is something important I need to ask you."
"Oh... Ok. Ask me, what is it?" I answered nervously. What could he want?"I heard your audition. It was truly remarkable. The way you played Tchaikovsky's Nocturne was memorizing. I could see that the audience was truly captured as well."
I was shocked I never knew that he was there. It made me fool good. To be complimented like that.
"Thank you. You also did well on Adagio by Albinoni. I thought you did amazing." I could feel myself blush a little bit.
"Thank you. But when I heard the news that the conductor would not accept you I was shocked. This is his first year and can't play an instrument himself. You are talented and have a great future ahead of you."
I am lost for words. Even though I hear adults all the time say that I never really heard it from someone as talented as him say it.
"Well since I am a second year I can start a club. And I am working on a string orchestra containing twelve violins, six violas, three basses, and six cellos. Auditions will be next month. Hopefully I'll get to see you there."
I am... what's the word I'm looking for? Surprised. I have another chance to be in an orchestra. Sure it's nothing professional but I could for the first time play in a group. What should I say?
"I will definitely be there."
"Great. If you were to be accepted you would make a great addition." Answered Kaname.
"Who will be conducting?"
"A past student who graduated last year who studied conducting agreed to do us the favor of conducting."
"Good. What about you? Will you be auditioning too?"
" Of course. I should have a fair chance as everyone."Kaname's Point of View
Zero seems to be happy. I wonder if he had ever played in an orchestra before.
"Zero have you ever been in a symphony or orchestra before?"
I could see his face a little bit.
'"No, because since I'm blind nobody would accept me no matter how talented they say I am."
"Oh I see. Well hopefully you will this time."
"Yes, me too."
" I should probably take you back inside. It's starting to get late."
"Huh? Oh alright. If you can please lead the way."I'll have to have a talk with our future conductor. Oh Zero.
