•••••••••••••••Third Person•••••••••••••
All that Zero could remember was feeling a smile forming on Kaname's face. The feeling made him feel unique. Zero could feel little butterflies, flying around his stomach. His heartbeat rapidly growing and his cheeks reddening. He wishes Kaname wouldn't notice. But of course, he did.
Zero looked down and took his hands off of Kaname's face. He could feel his face getting even warmer. Then he heard Kaname smile and give a chuckle. He was surprised.
"Zero. Will you look at me?" Kaname asked in a kind voice. Zero looked up he could feel a hand touching his cheek. Zero inwardly gasped.
"You know, I don't know what it is but you have this effect on me." as Kaname said this Zero felt confused yet hopeful.
"What do you mean?" Zero questioned.
"Hmm. To be completely honest I don't know myself either." As Kaname said this Zero felt more fluttering. Could it be possible that something was going on between them. Zero didn't want to get his hopes up. After all those times he just couldn't. But he so desperately did at the same time.
He could only feel Kaname and himself. Nothing was a reality anymore. It was if that they were the only two left in the world. Suddenly he could feel the other boys breath against his ear.
"Zero I think it's about time I get back to class." Zero could feel his heart sink. He felt disappointed.
"Alright. I shall go to my room."
"If you would like I could lead you the way."
"No. It's fine I can get by on my own. Besides you need to get to class."
••••••••••Third Person POV•••••••••••••
As Zero was walking away Kaname felt another presence besides their own. Making sure that Zero was out of sight Kaname walked back into the nearest building.
"Did anybody else see what I see?" asked a curious voice.
"Yep" answered a bored voice.
"You two be quiet!" ordered a familiar voice.
"We have to do something about this and soon." you could hear the jealousy oozing from her command.
The three students left their hiding places behind as they slowly made their way back to their dorms.
The Next Morning
•••••••••••••••Zero's POV••••••••••••••••
When I woke up this morning the first thought that came to me was Kaname. What he said last night was locked inside my brain and only he had the key. Whenever I think about last night I feel light headed. Like I'm sitting in cloud, hundreds of feet in the air.
When I arrived at the dining hall I heard a familiar voice call me.
"Zero!" Yuki called. She sounded excited.
"Good morning Yuki." I answered.
"Zero I found out that you're trying out for the new string orchestra. Is it true?!" Yuki questioned. By the sound of her she sounded awed, yet nervous.
"Yes I am. Why do you sound nervous?"
"Look there are things that you need to know before you audition. Especially about the night class." she said in a whisper.
"What do you mean by that?" At this point I'm starting to get nervous. And who was the night class?
"Meet me during lunch in the music practice room and I'll tell you what you need to know."
"Ok."
It was lunch time and I am waiting in the music practice room. What Yuki told me made me nervous. She sounded as if she were worried for my safety, as if I was in danger.
"Zero are you here?" I heard a small voice.
"Yes it's me." It was Yuki. I heard the door close and small quick steps approaching me. Then a sigh.
"Ok first off let m explain who the night class is. They are a group of very popular and talented second year students. All of them have known each other at a young age and are well connected. I have also known them for a long time as well." She took a shaky breath.
"The group contains of Rima Toya, Senri Shiki, Takuma Ichijou, Akatsuki Kain, Hanabusa Aido, Ruka Suoen, and my brother Kaname." I was surprised, yet intrigued by this piece of information. I nodded to show that I understood what she was saying.
"When they first arrived last year everybody was taken by surprise by them. Because not only were they talented in what they did but also how they seemed to always get their way. That's why they are called the night class, because of how shady some of their actions are." I was taken aback by all of this. What could she have meant of their shady actions? I guess Yuki could have guessed my confusion because then she said.
"Not that they have done anything dangerous, but more of how they decided to deal with their concerns. For example, near the end of last year, this one student had gotten himself involved with Toya. When the night class heard about him he for some reason dropped out. Supposedly it had something to do with his family but I heard some of the members talk about how his father lost his job at Takuma's family business.
"Since then I haven't heard much about him. When I tried asking some of his old friends all they told me was that he regretted coming here. I don't want to sound like I am spreading rumors or anything like that, but I want you to listen to me Zero. Be careful. Don't get involved with them too much. Because if you do something will happen, something always does." She then took a shaky breath and I could feel her shoulders drop. Yuki really seemed worried.
What could all of this information mean? Would something really happen to me if they caught me getting too close?
"So if I get too involved with them..... something could happen to me?" I asked
"There is a chance. Look Zero, you are a good person and I don't want you to get harmed. And the last thing I want to see is another talented student leave for some unknown reason and you getting hurt somehow." She sounded as if she were on the verge of tears. I don't know what to think. Could the night class really be a danger to me if I got closer to Kaname?
