ELIZABETH
I wake up next to Jake with my head on his chest and our legs tangled together. The kids still fast asleep, Jacob, slowly waking. I tune everything out and catch movement outside. The clock says three am. I slowly get up and grab my gun. I look out the window and watch colors fly by. A low growl slips as I snap my head back around. I slowly open the front door and step onto the porch. I close the door and look around. Almost as soon as I step off the porch, arms wrapped around me. One around my neck, the other covering my mouth. My claws extend and they dig into the arm at my neck. I slam my attacker on the ground and press my foot against his throat. He smiles wickedly.
"Hello love." He says. I cock my gun and aim it at his head.
"Goodbye." I smirk.
He kicks me in the side and my gun falls out of reach. I send my foot into his jaw when he stands up and he throws a punch. I catch his wrist and he throws another. I block it the same way. I twist his arms and flip him over my head. He reaches for my gun and I throw it.
"That wasn't smart sweetheart." No. No, no, no, no, no.
I kick him in the groin and knee him in the face. I grip his throat with my claws and watch blood seep from his eyes. He kicks me and I let go falling on the ground. My heart picks up majorly. He pulls out a sword and I crawl backwards. The front door opens and Jake runs out, shifting. Jake runs into my attacker then shifts back and helps me up. The man stands and smirks.
"You didn't grab any weapons did you?" I whisper to my fiance.
"Didn't think we'd need them." He retorts.
I flick out my claws and let my eyes glow. I let out a low growl and step forward. The man runs at me and I flip him over my shoulder and aim to kick him. He grabs my leg and throws me. I spin in the air and land flipping my head up. Jake already shifted and threw him like a dog would a chew toy. I use my advanced speed and grab his head. I rip his head off and set him on fire. Jake shifts back and I let my features go back to normal. I diminish the fire and walk with Jake back to Billy's. I pick up my gun and unload it. I set it on the dresser and look back at the kids, sound asleep. I smile and walk into the living room. I run my fingers through my hair and sigh. Two muscular arms wrap around my waist and I look up at Jacob. We kiss and then he rests his chin on my shoulder. I close my eyes and inhale. I wrap my arms around his neck the best I can and let out a breath I didn't know I was holding. His lips lightly touch my neck and I slightly smile. I let my arms down as his presses another sweet kiss on my neck. He spins me around and I slowly open my eyes. I grab two fist fulls of his shirt as our lips meet. We slowly pull back and kiss again, harder and stronger. He runs a hand through my hair and smiles.
"I love you." He whispers.
"I love you too." I whisper back. Our fingers tangle and we walk to the bedroom. Both kids still fast asleep. I smile again and Jake smirks.
"How'd I ever manage to get this lucky?" He asks shaking his head. I furrow my brows.
"What's that supposed to mean?" I retort.
"I'm getting married to the most beautiful, and intelligent woman, and I have two perfect children."
"Don't call me a woman, okay? I'm barely eighteen. Not thirty some."
"Yes ma'am." I slap his shoulder before pointing a finger at him.
"What did I say about that!?!" I whisper yell.
"I know, I know. Come on, let's try to get some sleep before the kids wake up." Jake says wrapping his arms around my small torso. I let go and crawl onto the air mattress.
