ELIZABETH
"How do you know some things not happening right now and I'm hiding it Sam? This isn't right. Something feels off and Jacob is missing. Last time I felt like this I almost killed myself. Something is wrong but I don't know what."
"Then you follow that feeling until you get what you're looking for." I look at him and take off running.
My feet pound against the ground as I move toward that feeling. My heart is about to beat out of my chest, my lungs burn, and it feels like my head's about to explode. I slide to a stop and stare ahead. I run forward and drop to my knees.
"Jake?" I lightly slap his face. "Jacob?" I slap harder. "Jakey?" I shake him a little. "Jacob please! Jacob!?!" I slap him again. "Jacob!?! Wake up! Wake up!" Tears stream down my face as I continue to attempt to wake him. "Jacob! Come on! Wake up!" I ball my hand up into a fist and swing. A hand catches mine and stares at it. "Jake?" His arms wrap around me and hold me against him.
"Hey." He whispers. I cry against his chest and he rubs my back. "It's okay. I'm okay. I'm okay."
"Don't ever scare me like that again!" I order.
"I won't. I'm sorry. I know you went through hell, but I tried to win."
"Win what?"
"A fight."
"A fight? Jacob what the hell were you thinking?"
"Keep you and the kids safe. That's all I ever think about."
"Who?"
"Xenikia."
"Oh. Her." I sneer. Jake laughs a little.
He lays me beside him and wraps his arm over me. We both smile. Jake's face drops.
"Why are you so pale?" Jacob asks.
"I'm always pale." I reply.
"Elizabeth, it's worse then usual. You haven't looked this bad since you were pregnant."
"I'm fine."
"Elizabeth." He says sternly.
"I'm fine, I swear."
"No, you're not."
"Jake, I'm fine." I get migraine and my head whirls.
"Elizabeth, stop lying."
"I'm okay I-" Everything turns dark and the only thing I feel is his warmth.
JACOB
I pick her up and carry her toward the house. I get to the edge of the trees and her eyes start to open, but they glow blue. They flutter shut and I take her inside. I lay her on the couch and Dad wheels out of the kitchen.
"I'm guessing she found you, but then she passed out?" He guesses. I nod sitting beside her brushing some of her hair behind her ear.
"Yeah. You could say that."
"Son, she'll be fine. It's El, how many times has she been like this?"
"I guess you're right. Are the kids asleep?"
"Yeah, they volunteered to sleep on the air mattress so I let them."
"Was Alex freaking out?"
"A little, but Helena calmed him down." I slightly smile.
"That's good." I nod and bite the inside of my lip. "He'll be back up any second. He won't sleep without knowing that El is home. When she left he refused to sleep and only ate when he wanted to."
