ELIZABETH

I slide the window open and climb through. I close the window and I step on a shirt, causing my ankle to roll.

"Son of a-!!" I gasp grabbing my ankle. Jake sits up and looks at me.

"Are you okay? Wait. Why are you dressed up? Where'd you go?" He asks.

"I'm fine and I went to close a deal." I say still in pain from my ankle. I take my shoes off and limp over to the bed. I lay back still in the dress. Jake lightly rubs my arm.

"Are you sure you're okay? Neither of us are healing how we should." He glances at my ankle. I take my hair down and lightly shake it out. I rake a hand through my hair and grab one of his shirts from off my side of the bed. I try to in zip the back of the dress, but fail. Jake unzips it for me and I stand up before sliding it off and pulling his shirt over my head. I climb up beside him and put my head on his shoulder.

"Maybe we'll just have to get used to being human." I whisper.

"How? Helena and Alex still need help with control." Jake says angling his head toward me.

"We'll figure it out, we always do." I state with a slight smile.

"So are we getting the kids tomorrow or?" Jake drags out the question.

"Probably, I'll see if Jasper wants to drive them up, because neither of us are in the shape to be driving."

"Yet you went out to close a deal?"

"I walked." I groan. Jake chuckles and we lay back. I move my head to his chest and him slightly before actually starting to fall asleep. "I love you Jakey." I mumble.

"I love you too El." He whispers

We ended up driving to Forks to get the kids, who apparently went back to five year olds. We drove the Camaro down, well I did, Jake just sat in the passenger seat and watched out the window. I've been playing the how much does it hurt to try to get your eyes to glow game. I was out of control when Jake died, now I don't even have abilities. I've healed more since last night, but I'm still weak. Strong enough to drive, but that's just about it. I grip the wheel and black veins run up my arms. I feel my eyes heat up then cool, then my arms go back to normal. I glance at Jake.

"Did they glow?" I ask with hope.

"Almost." He replies. "And you should stop before you wreck or you lose your abilities forever." He quickly adds.

"I'm getting close to getting my strength back, I have to try so someone can help the kids and not be severely injured." I state with a sigh.

"That's if they didn't lose their abilities when they aged backwards seven years." Jake points out. I slightly groan.

"I've had enough of this loss of ability shit." I growl, my eyes burning, but then they cool. I groan again and pull into the Cullen's driveway. Jake chuckles as he climbs out. I take the keys out and put them in my pocket. I climb out and close the door. I look up and Jake is already half way up the first set of stairs. I trudge up the stairs, toward the third level. I start taking the stairs three at time, until I get to where I aimed for. Alex's head snaps up and he smiles widely. I smile back at him and the other twin beside him with her hair braided back into pigtails. Jake raises an eyebrow and smirks with pride. I give him a pointed look.

"Ooh, daddy's in trouble." Helena taunts.

"Uh, oh." Alex whispers. I roll my eyes and glare at Jake.
