A blanket covered her shoulders, keeping Lucille warm, as two men stood by her, an older gentleman touching her shoulder and offering her a glass of water. Her hands quaked, shame trickling down her veins as she stared at her feet. She waved the man off, listening to the jingling of the shackles that were being placed around Natsu's wrists.
"Completely unacceptable." Dan was fuming, stalking back and forth. He made his way and stood in front of Natsu, glaring at him down his nose. "What made you think you could lay your hands on my fiancée." He snapped. The pink haired boy watched him in interest, his eyes moving to Dan's before darting quickly to Lucille. Dan noticed and grabbed Natsu's sleeves, shaking the boy. "Look at me, you filth." He growled.
"Dan." Lucille began, turning her head towards the men.
"What do you think you were doing." Dan continued, pushing Natsu back and ignoring the blondes call. The pink haired boy watched Dan indignantly, his brows furrowed. Lucille stood, jogging over to the men.
"Dan, stop!" She cried, grabbing Dan's arm as he continued to snap at the boy. She tugged him back, causing the man to look down at her. "It was an accident!"
Dan chuckled in disbelief, raising an eyebrow. "An...an accident?" He asked almost as if he didn't believe her.
Natsu looked over at her in confusion. "It was." She continued, watching Dan seriously. Her fiancé turned his gaze to Natsu, pursing his lips. "Stupid really." She laughed softly, thinking up a story on the spot as Dan watched Natsu. "I...I was leaning over and I...I slipped." She said, satisfied with her story, causing Dan and Natsu to look at her, one with concern the other with confusion.
Lucille turned her gaze to Natsu, finding it only on her. "I was leaning far over to see the uh...." Her eyes moved down in thought, pursing her lips slightly as she tried to think of something else to add onto her lie. "Ah...uh..." Natsu watched her in amusement as she closed and began to twist her hand, attempting the find the word as she showed Dan the movement of the contraption she was trying to think of. "The uh...uh..."
"Propellers?" Dan asked as she continued to twist her hand. She latched onto the word quickly.
"Propellers and I slipped! And I would have gone over board but," Lucille's gaze turned back to Natsu, finding a small grin on his face. "Mr. Dragneel here saved me and almost went over himself!"
"You wanted to see...she wanted to see the propellers!" Dan said in disbelief, Natsu attempting to hide his smile as the men around them laughed.
"Like I said," the older man begins. "Women and machinery do not mix." He made his way next to Dan, the man holding Natsu turning him, licking his chapped lips.
"Was that the way of it?" He asked in a bored tone. Natsu turned his head back to Lucille and her eyes urged him on with a silent plea. He pressed his lips together and looked at Dan and the older man.
"Yeah." He agreed nonchalantly. "Yeah that was pretty much it." He continued, looking at the men's unbelieving gazes.
"Well, the boys a hero then!" The older man said, glancing at Dan then back to Natsu. "Good for you, son." He said, giving Natsu a nod of approval. "Well done."
