Oh my goodness chapter 6!!!

Sorry for the long wait. As of right now, I did already post that there would be slow updates but how does once a month sound for you guys? I'm the only one who actually likes the movie titanic in my house so it's kind of hard to find some free time to write. But that will not stop me from completing this book!

Thank you so much for reading and I will see you guys in March :)

"....Aftet that, I worked on a squid boot in Monterey," Natsu was explaining, making Lucille crinkle her nose. "The I went down to Los Angeles to the Santa Monica pier. Started drawing and selling portraits for 10 cents a piece."

Lucille sighed, lowering her head before looking to the pink haired man. "Why can't I be like you?" She asked, causing his gaze to move up to hers. "Just...head out for the horizon whenever I feel like it." Her arm swung wide to gesture at the horizon, making Natsu smirk. She pressed her lips together as she watched the sun rays dance across the boys face as the sun set. "Hey...." She started, staring deep into his beautiful dark eyes. "Say you and I go there sometime. T-To the pier even if we only do just talk about it." She said and he nodded, a small smile capturing his features.

"Nah, we'll do it." He said while nodding, leaning against the railing. "We'll drink cheap beer, ride on the roller coaster till we throw up," this caused Lucille to laugh, making his grin widen. "And we'll ride horses on the beach right in the surf. But, Luce I hate to tell you this but you have to do it like a real cowboy. None of that sidesaddle stuff." He explained, causing the blonde to blink.

"You mean...with one leg on each side?" She asked in bewilderment as if to confirm what the boy had said was true. He nodded and she blanched, looking out over the water. A smile soon overtook the blank look and her deep brown eyes caught Natsu's again, his breath leaving him a gush of air as if the girl had punched him in the gut rather than just turning those large eyes on him.

"Can..." She pursed her lips. "Would you show me?"

"Sure," he said almost to quickly. "If yo would like."

She nodded, clenching her teeth in determination. "Alright...teach me to ride like a man." She said, making Natsu grin widely.

"Chew tobacco like a man." He challenged and her face reddened, her teeth practically shredding the inside of her lip.

"And..." She said, a southern twang entering her melodic voice. "Spi-yut like a man."

"Ah come on now," Natsu said, placing a hand on her arm. "You didn't learn that in finishing school?"

"No." She snorted, shaking her head while a smile claimed her mouth.

"Come on I'll show you." He said, causing Lucille's head to jerk up. "Let's do it." He said, before pushing off the bar and walking off. She blinked.

"Wait wha-"

"I'll show you how come on." He said, swiftly grabbing her hand in his rough one. She practically fainted at the idea of finally touching him but her heart panicked.

"Natsu! No, Natsu, no. Wait!" She insisted, trying to tug her hand away. Natsu just kept dragging the girl forward, offering her kind words as she struggled. "N-Natsu I couldn't possibly!"

The two ran into one of the railings directly above the water. "Now," he began, catching her attention. "Watch closely." Lucille watched in amusement as the boy snorted, gripped the banister in his hands and spit the loogie into the water, attracting some unwanted attention from the women next to them.

"Oh that's disgusting!" She exclaimed, watching the spit ball splat against the water. He turned and cracked a dazzling smile.

"Alright, your turn." He said and her smile fell. She pursed her lips, looking around and quickly spitting the small amount of saliva into the ocean. "Ah come on." Natsu groaned. "That was so pitiful! You really gotta hawk it back." He explained. "Get some leverage. Use your arms." He snorted loudly, the veins in his neck flexing. "Arc your neck!"

Most of the men and women around the teens looked at Natsu in disdain and Lucille in horror. The two didn't care though as Lucille tried again and again to "spit like a man". Natsu placed his hand on the small of her back and instructed her to arch her back a little bit more before the girl spat again, cheers of excitement escaping them as she succeeded. Little did they know, the Captain, Porlyusica and Jude Heartfilia were walking towards them, speaking amongst themselves. Well, Jude and the Captain spoke to each other while the woman tried to listen in. Jude blinked in surprise when he saw his daughter with a man who could only be described as mangy was explaining to her something Jude could not quite decipher. But as soon as the boy began to snort loudly and bend back, he knew and he grew furious. Lucille noticed him them and quickly smacked Natsu's arm as he attempted to spit again, the boy quickly turning and blinking in surprise. Spit rested on his chin though he did not know or understand why the three adults stared at him as if he were a fungus. So, he swallowed, almost gagging the spit back up as he turned to Lucille in desperation.

"Father." She said, smiling sweetly at the mentioned man. She walked forward, looking to Natsu then back to the adults. "May I...introduce Natsu Dragneel?" She asked and the adults looked at the boy. Jude glared at the boy, his blonde hair ruffling slightly in the wind.

"Charmed, I'm sure." He said bitterly before he and the captain turned their gaze back to the girl. Porlyusica gestured a finger at her chin towards Natsu, causing the boy to quickly wipe the spit off, his face burning in embarrassment. Lucille talked to the adults, Porlyusica and the Captain praising Natsu for his "heroic actions" the night before, but Lucille couldn't help but shy away from her fathers menacing glare.

The bell for dinner sounded and Porlyusica sighed loudly. "What are we? Soldiers in the army?" She looked to Natsu and smiled kindly. Lucille smiled before a sharp jab from her fathers elbow caused her to immediately quiet.

"I should...go dress father. Would you mind walking me to my room?" Lucille asked, looking lovingly at her father. He nodded and the girl took his arm before turning and smiling at Natsu. "I'll see you at dinner." She said and he nodded, waving slightly just as she turned her back. He smiled, watching the Captain, Jude and Lucille walk off before leaning against the banister.

"Uh, child?" Porlyusica asked, catching his attention. "Do you have any idea of what you are doing?" She asked. He smiled and shook his head.

"Not really."

"Well, you're about to go into a snake pit." Her eyes traveled over his attire before she rose an eyebrow. "What are you planning to wear?" Natsu's brow furrowed and he looked down at his clothes, throwing up his arms. Porlyusica scoffed, rolling her eyes.

"I figured." She sighed. "Come on." She grabbed the boys arm, dragging him along. Natsu looked down at the pink haired woman and smiled, shaking his head.

Natsu tugged on the jacket of the suit Porlyusica had let him borrow, the woman smiling proudly at her handiwork. "I was right!" She exclaimed, patting and smoothing the shoulders of the jacket. "You and my son are just about the same size." She stood back, placing her hands on her hips and nodding happily.

"Yeah." Natsu agreed, impressed. "Pretty damn close." Looking at himself in the mirror, the boy adjusted the jacket, standing straight with his chest puffed out. He cleared his throat, attempting to look more formal than he actually was, pursing his lips and lowering his head slightly.

"You shine up like a new penny." Porlyusica fawned, smiled and straightening the jacket a little more. Natsu smiled and she laughed, clapping her hand on his back in happiness as the two stared at the boys impressive attire.
