The light of another morning in Paris shone through Adrien's window and illuminated his room in bright colours. This morning wouldn't seem so different to an ordinary person but to Adrien it was the first day since he had found out the identity of his Ladybug. They had decided the night before to not tell their friends yet of their new relationship and to make it seem like they were gradually getting closer. This way they didn't need to think of a story and make excuses as to why they suddenly knew so much about each other. In reality they did not know a whole lot about their personal lives but they knew everything about their superhero personas. The closeness in which they had as Chat Noir and Ladybug is very noticeable, now that they know who the other is behind the mask, that closeness exists both on duty and off. This made Adrien excited. He finally gets to see the side of his Ladybug he had always wanted to see. If only he had known his Ladybug was in front of him the whole time. After Adrien found out Marinette was Ladybug he could not stop noticing the many similarities between her and Ladybug. This made him feel worse because it was so obvious. Her smile, her laugh, her voice, her hair and eyes. How could he have not seen it earlier? Adrien shook off these thoughts and allowed his excitement to grow as he went to get ready for the day.

Marinette opened her eyes sleepily and immediately smiled to herself. She was so happy that she now knew Chat's identity, especially now that she could talk to Adrien like a normal person. Not only that but he was her boyfriend. "Adrien is my boyfriend. I've always wanted those words to be true." Marinette said to Tikki who had just woken up. "I'm so happy for you Marinette but remember not to get carried away after all you both agreed to keep it secret from your friends." Tikki said sternly. "That's just temporary plus we have to make it look like we're getting closer right?" Marinette said with a cheeky smile. After Marinette had gotten ready there was a knock at her door. As the trapdoor opened her mother appeared. "Good morning Marinette, I'm glad to see you're ready for once." Her mother said with a smile. Marinette nodded. "Anyway there's a nice young man waiting for you downstairs he said something about going over a project before getting to school?" Marinette didn't know who it was but she thought it was safe to assume it was Adrien. Marinette old her mother to tell the boy she would be down soon. As Marinette packed her bag and made sure Tikki was safely inside it, she hurried down the stairs as quickly as she could.
As she reached the bottom she saw Adrien laughing with her dad as he ate a croissant. She couldn't help but grin but made sure to hide it as she walked over to them. "Morning Papa" She said to her father as she kissed him good morning. "Morning Adrien" She said with a smile. Adrien smiled softly at her. He couldn't seem to formulate any words. "We're off to school now Papa see you later." Marinette said with a wave. "Good luck on your Ladybug project." He called out after her. Marinette glared at Adrien on their way out as he smiled and shrugged. "I can't believe you told him our fake project was on Ladybugs." Adrien laughed. "Hey it's more believable than saying it's on cats." Marinette rolled her eyes.
"So my Lady, how close do you think we should be today?" Adrien said as he slipped his hand into hers. Marinette liked the feeling and didn't want to pull her hand away. "I wish we could be this close." She said naturally. Her eyes went wide as she realised what she had said and her face began to feel hot. Adrien could not take his eyes off her. "I feel the same." Adrien replied shyly. "But it's only for now." Marinette looked up. "True. I guess for now we just talk to each other as we usually do except now I can say a full sentence in front of you without stuttering." Marinette said with a laugh. Adrien smiled at her as they reached the end of the street. They now only had 2 blocks between them and school. Adrien reluctantly slipped his hand out of hers. "I guess now it's a bit too risky to keep holding your hand." He said looking down.
Marinette spoke in a lively voice to try and cheer him up. "So Adrien is this going to become a habit?" Adrien looked at her confused. "Showing up to my house to walk to school" Adrien laughed. "My father would not allow me to walk to school every day no matter how much I love walking you to school but every once in a while I can." Adrien had stopped walking and turned to Marinette. "And when we're official at school I can pick you up in the Limo." Marinette smiled but Adrien frowned. "I know what some people may think. That I'm a snobby rich kid like Chloe. But I never want you to think that about me and you know that I am nothing like Chloe...Right?" Marinette nodded. "Oh speaking of Chloe" Adrien had that face Chat always pulled when he felt confident, but there was something else. A bit of Adrien in it too. It seemed like sincerity. "You have nothing to worry about with Chloe." "Huh" Marinette responded. "I know Chloe can be a bit much and she may be all over me but just remember that the only girl I see is you." Adrien said looking into Marinette's eyes as she gave him that smile that made his heart hurt.

They arrived at school walking side by side invested in conversation. Alya was chatting to Nino as she glanced over at her friend. She could not believe her eyes. Her best friend was talking to the guy she liked and wasn't making a fool of herself. She couldn't help but smile. They grow up so fast. She thought to herself. Nino also glanced at his best friend Adrien. He was surprised to see him talking to Marinette after all he had showed no interest in her before... or any girl for that matter despite them throwing themselves at him. Nino smiled and Alya and him went to meet up with them. "No way Ladybugs are peaceful creatures they would never purposefully attack someone." Marinette said to Adrien. "But I swear this one did it kept flying at me." Adrien said in a matter a fact tone. "Hey guys" Alya said to them. "What are you two doing walking to school together?" Nino asked curiously. "Oh well father wanted me to get some exercise for this photoshoot coming up and I happened to bump into Marinette on the way." Adrien replied with his explanation. Marinette was giving Alya the 'look' to say 'OMG'. "Well Marinette and I have to get going we have some work we need to finish." Marinette looked sad for a second but quickly hid it as so no one would notice. She turned to Adrien. "See you later Adrien and trust me the ladybug was not attacking you. Bye Nino." Marinette waved as she walked off with Alya. Both Marinette and Adrien could agree, their plan was working perfectly.
