The journey started and with dizziness gone, I plugged in the earphone and updated my profile picture on Facebook; image of me and Jess taken at the restaurant where we ate our lunch. I took some pics of the scenery; one where a beautiful rainbow is stretching its color throughout the green field and the beautiful sunset radiating its orange- diminished effect across the mountain. I uploaded few pictures of scenes and foods on instagram.
The incident with Allen at the restaurant replayed on my head again and again. I was frustrated at myself for talking with him. He is not the same Al, I won't even call him Al, he is a stranger to me and I don't have anything to do with him.
Why would he talk to me? Did he forget what he did to me 4 years ago? How can he act normal with me? Is he testing my patience?
The thoughts were piling up inside my head and I instantly fell asleep; I guess the only way to suppress my curiosity and explosion of my head.
"We reached the hotel, Su," my mom spoke in my ears. I rubbed my eyes and slowly stood up in the car. I raised my hands to stretch myself; loosening my stiff body and reluctantly taking the luggage to the hotel room. I freshened up and put on my pajamas; ready to dive into the bed. "Su, let's go downstairs to have dinner. Everybody will be there," mom knocked on my door. "Mom, count me out. I am not that hungry and I am tired too. I will be with my Minhyuk so, mom you all can go on with your dinner. I will be staying here." It is partly a lie too and I would as much as like to avoid things that will make the dinner pretty unpleasant.
I opened my door slowly and poked my head out to see whether people were there or not. Then like a cat I swiftly took a step not to wake my parents next door and made my way down to the hotel kitchen for some food. All the movies made the devils in my stomach go crazy. The hallway was dimly lit and no one was around. Where the hell did all the staffs go to when I need them? As I finally got near to the kitchen, I felt a hand on my back and I screamed. The hand made me mute by covering my mouth and I struggled to get out of the strong arms.
"What are you doing at this time of the night?" the voice breathed near the nape of my neck, sending shiver down my spine. I recognized the voice and immediately anger swelled up inside me. I wanted to slap him for making me feel so scared but I controlled myself.
"Get out of my way. It's got nothing to do with you." I made my way towards the counter and ordered myself a vegetable roll and a small cola. "Its 120 yen," the manager automatically told me. I fished around my pajama pocket for my money but I felt only the empty space. I was scared as it dawned on me that I left my money in my bag. I could feel him growing impatient and eyeing me suspiciously- "How much is it?" "120 yen, sir"
Handing the note to the seller, Allen turned around and vanished inside the elevator.
