Chapter 4
We gathered our senses in a moment and decided to find out more before going through the portal. We quickly searched the professor's lab. I walked past a table with piles of paper on it. A recorder on the pile hanging by a wire caught my eye. I switched it on. This is roughly what I heard:
"Whoever finds this, if you are not prepared for a journey of danger and adventure, leave this message for someone else." The voice was heavy and rough and weak. "I'm the only one who can switch off the portal. You must find me at the other side fast. The portal's location will keep changing. You have to find me and take me back." Suddenly, the clash of metal was heard in the recorder. "The torvosaur is coming. I locked it in a room but it's coming out. I need to go. Equipment is in the cabinets. Search my lab for anything you need. I need to go. I'm severely injured. Good luck to all of you." The recorder fell silent.
At the same time Dylan's eyes caught a pile of notes that looked hand-written. He flipped through them. "Time portal a success.... using apcrolictic technology.....just made the name up.....?"
Ashton was just raiding the lab's fridge. At the same time, we all ran towards to each other.
"I found a recording! Listen!" I shouted.
"I found some of the professor's notes! Look!" Dylan exclaimed.
"I found durian puffs! Smell!" Ashton screamed.
Me and Dylan just stared at him. "What?" Ashton said innocently. "They're tasty."
