Adriane was awoken by a harsh yank on her arm. Her eyes blinked lazily a couple times, the colors blurring together. But once the lights dimmed, and the color was washed away for monochromatic surroundings, was when she really woke up. Her eyes snapped open, taking in the white stone tiles that were littered with black dots. The walls were plain and white, no color on them at all. The ceiling, as she glanced up, was also white (big surprise). It was popcorned, and large bar-shaped lights were spaced every four feet.

Then she noticed the heavy weight on her shoulders. She looked down, finding three heavy chains. A guard was stationed on each of her arms, and others crowded around them. She gave a jerk. The chains rattled in protest and something hard shoved into her back.

"Don't you start anything now." A guard warned behind her. As her mind started becoming more alert when they turned another corner, she started jerking harder.

"No! This wasn't how this was supposed to work!" She suddenly yelled, pulling back against the chains. The guards holding her arms tightened their grip. She jerked hard to the right into one guy, and then quickly into the other. Free momentarily, she went to take off to find and exit when suddenly four grabbed her arms, two on each.

"No!" She yowled. "Who the fuck do you think you people are!" Adriane let her wolf surface, a dangerous growl ripping through her throat.

"We need more guards on the new arrival." One guard behind her said into a walkie-talkie. She threw her head back in an unceremonious, harsh laugh.

"Get these chains off me! You little fuck-tards. I'm not supposed to be here! Where is here? Someone answer me!" She yelled thrashing around. She heard a grunt and someone fall behind her. More rushing footsteps echoed down an adjoining hall. She looked over the guard on her right's shoulder to see five more guys dressed in thick black clothing hurrying down the hall.

Another threatening snarl ripped out of her throat. "Let me go! I have things to do! I don't have any god damn time to be here!" Jerking into the guards on her left, they flew into the wall and grunted before slouching over unconscious. Two more replaced them.

Over an intercom from else where in the building she heard someone chime, "Guards on post! We got a new prisoner, and she's a lively one!" They made a couple for turns down the various hallways. Adriane didn't understand how they couldn't have gotten lost in the maze-like building. Adriane didn't care either. She was too busy swearing this way and that to really see what was going on. A person behind her rushed ahead of the crowd suddenly flipping through a ring that held an assortment of large metal keys.

"Get these damn chains off me! You morons must think I could bust out of just one since you put three on! Sons of motherless whores! Quit moving so fast! I'm going to end up bashing my head into this floor! Let me go!" Adriane screamed. She could tell the guards were starting to get tired of her as they let her swing this way and that a bit more than they had before.

"Cell's open!" The guard that had ran ahead called to them. A few of them sighed in relief. As if renewed vigor came with those words, the guards tightened their grips once more and picked up their steps.

"God damn it! Let go of me!" Adriane tried again, swinging to her left and managing to knock a guard off. As always, another guard replaced the past before she had time to even notice the freed space.

They rounded another corner; this one lined with cells. A sweet scent filled her senses. It was similar to that of syrup and a tiny bit of winter-y pine. Though her wolf started to suddenly fight against her assailants not to get loose, but to find the owner of that scent, she wanted nothing to do with it. She knew it was her mate, but this was the last place she wanted to find him.
