Chapter 23
Phase 2.
Sevastyan pulls the pin and throws one after another into the door way, while he and Dean flank the sides of the door. Only one figure makes it out of the explosions, and is quickly dealt with.
Sevastyan signals the go and his men flood through the door. Sevastyan did not wait to check the damaged machines or the dead, he ran through the building, set on one thing; Kana.
He ducks as shots fire at him. Sevastyan jumps over fallen walls, and dead men before pummeling a human. Breaking the delicate being's wrist, he steals the gun and shoots, then shoots again for good measure. The fallen man is just one of many from the enemy's forces.

Sevastyan and Dean slam into the entrance of the prison. The metal remains strong and the men back away from the door.
"Now," Sevastyan growls and Dean throws his last grenade.
They both jump through the hole formed from the grenade and into the prison.
Dean pauses at the sight of the strong Kana chained pathetically in the middle of the room. Electrical currents run through the chains holding her, and Kana's blood covers the ground beneath her. Sevastyan grips the chains, taking the electrical pain effortless as he breaks Kana free.
Dean is even impressed by the strength.
"Take her," the command washes over Dean and he picks up an unconscious Kana.
"She's going to be mad when she finds out you took her place in this mission," Dean states.
"Doesn't matter, get her out of here, and keep James safe," Sevastyan walks toward the center of the room.
"What about you?" Dean steps forward.
"You know the plan, Dean. Don't betray the cause now," Sevastyan says casually as he grabs the chains that once held Kana.
"Yeah, great plan Sev, get yourself killed and let your idiot brother rule without your strength," Dean deadpans.
Sevastyan throws Dean his gun roughly in response. Dean stumbles back but quickly shoots Sevastyan unconscious and leaves without hesitation. Sevastyan is Dean's only friend, and Dean knows better than anyone that Sevastyan can handle himself.
Sevastyan is the only one who welcomes human cruelty, and he will weaken the humans and end this war.

Finishing a book is on my bucket list and my New Years resolution.

I'm making a sequel, whether people read this or not. I really want to make it readable to people who don't want to read this book. I know it will be more romance-y and I have a ton of ideas for it. But I want more. I like depth in my stories. Do you? (Real question )
If you have theme suggestions or ideas for the next book. Hmu. I have outlines and plans but I am open to anything (and I want more) . Thank you for reading this, I know it is slow. This is the first long book I have ever written and I am very excited that I made it through.
