Chae Jieun

It was about 9 pm when the couple left. They were really kind. Changkyun and I ended up together alone.

"Jieun, I'm sleepy. Do you mind me?" He asked. "Of course not, it's your house after all." He walked towards me and placed his right hand on my head. "Our house." He smiled and walked away.

I sat on the couch and looked around. "Such a mess." I mumbled. I walked to a small box laying around and got on my knees to unpack it. I have to do something for Changkyun in return. I opened the box and the first thing I saw was a framed picture of a not-so-young man with a little boy by his side and a woman. This must be his family. I looked further in the box and found a photo album.

I picked it up and looked at before opening it.

"Hey I'm back." Changkyun came out the room with his pyjama on. "Hi." I looked at him then closed the photo album. "What are you doing there?" He asked and walked towards me.

"I was just unpacking your stuff, it's such a mess here." I answered with a smile. "Oh, photo albums. Do you wanna take a look?" He lifted the box up from the ground and made his way to the couch. I stood up and went to sit next to him.

He opened the photo album and smiled when he saw a picture of three little boys and a girl. "Who is this?" I questioned him, taking a look at the cute kids on the picture.

"These are Hyungwon, Jooheon, Hyungwon's sister and I. We were all childhood friends. I had a crush on Hyungwon's sister, she was my 'first love'." He said. "Cute." I smiled. "Yes. But Hyungwon's parents divorced and his mother took his sister and his father took him. Ever since then, I never saw her again." I nodded.

"Who was your first crush?" He asked. I started thinking at his question. "I... never had one." I said still thinking. "Nah, I never had one." I said again but this time, I was sure. "Never?" He furrowed his eyebrows. "Nope, never." I answered shortly. He muttered an 'okay' and continued paging the photo album.

"Ah who is this?" I stopped him and pointed at a pretty girl. 'This is my sister. She lives in America along with my mom and my other sister." He said. "We always used to fight about who slept next to my mom when we were little. My mom usually scolds us and tells us to sleep in our own rooms." He chuckled.

"Tell me about your parents." He said, still paging the album. "I- My parents, they divorced when I was four or something. I don't really remember." I tried convincing him.

"Oh." "Hey Changkyun," I paused. "Can we talk?" I asked him and he directly looked at me serious. "Sure." He answered, closing the photo album and placing it on the table in front of him.

"Okay so the reason I actually walked away is," I paused again. "My mom- I was almost raped." I said tearing up. "Raped by your mom?" He widened his eyes. "No, my mom, she goes to clubs and gets drunk every night since my dad and mom got divorced. She never cared for me since then. And when the man was about to r-rape me, she just told me to get used to it." I said in between sobs. "Oh I-I don't know what- I'm sorry to hear that. I wish I could do something." He said stuttering.

"No, I'm already happy and thankful that you're taking care of me. I thank you sincerely, Changkyun." I wiped my tears away. I can feel my whole face getting warm as I was crying loudly.

"Changkyun, I haven't felt any love for thirteen years. I learned to care for myself ever since I was little. And look at me now. I'm lost. I don't know where my dad is, I don't know any relatives of mine. I have no one. No one." I looked down at my legs as my body was facing Changkyun.

"It's okay, I'll take care for you. Trust me, you're safe around me." He said. I looked up at him as I saw his eyes  sparkling, holding some tears inside. "Can I have a h-" He wrapped his arms around me before I finished my sentence. "You should just have done it." He said as I sighed deeply, feeling like I haven't breathed for years. "Thank you." I pulled back and smiled weakly.

"Jieun, I'm happy we had this conversation. I feel like we'll get closer by this. Also, tell me your worries if you have them. I'll be a doctor, father, brother, what ever you want for you."

I chuckled. "Just stay my guardian angle."

"What? You still remember?" He asked, sounding like a kid. "It's not like it was thousand years ago." I rolled my eyes and chuckled. He just gave me his usual warm smile. I now indeed feel closer to him. I feel so comfortable with him.

"Hey, it's late. Let's go to sleep since we both, I suppose haven't slept well last night." He stated. "I agree though." "But where are you gonna sleep?" He questioned. "In your bed, duh." I said looking at him sassy. "But where am I gonna sleep?" He pouted like a kid. ((a/n: in Jackson's voice)) Cute. "On the couch, obviously." He laughed and nodded. "Yes ma'am." He acted like a kid.

We wished each other good night and went to sleep.

I lied in his bed thinking about today. I think Changkyun makes me happy. I feel so relieved that I had someone to talk to. I'm so happy I got rid of those cigarettes. At least now, I have someone to walk with home.
