How You Meet

Light Yagami

You had just come back from a trip to America, and were preparing to attend Ho-Oh University. At the opening ceremony, you were in a rush to meet up with some friends, and ran straight into someone.

"Ah, I'm so sorry!" You yelled, bowing before the person.

"No, it's okay... I'm fine. Are you okay?" A male voice replied. You looked to see a tall boy with brown hair wearing a suit.

"Yeah, I'm okay..." You extended your hand to him. "I'm {Y/N}."

He took hold of your hand and smiled at you. "I'm Light. Will you be attending this university?"

"Yes, I'm here for the entrance ceremony."

"Oh, awesome. So am I." He said, but then glanced at his watch. "Ah, I'm sorry, but I've gotta go. I'll see you on campus!"

"Yeah!" You replied, and watched him run away with a sigh.

I hope I see him again...

L Lawliet

You were a new employee at a bakery in Japan, and while you were working your very first shift, a man walked in and stared at you while he was waiting in line to place an order. He had dark black hair and dark circles around his eyes, but had pale skin and was slouched over. When it was his turn, you smiled at him. "What would you like, sir?"

"Uh, may I please get a chocolate cake, a strawberry vanilla cake, six plain cupcakes, and a dozen macaroons?"

Your eyes widened at the huge order but got everything he asked, and put it into boxes, which were then put into a bag. After he paid, he turned to leave but looked back at you with a smile. "Have a nice day, miss...?"

"{Y/N}. I'm {Y/N}. And you too, Mr...?"

"Ryuzaki. I hope to see you again." He said before exiting the bakery.

Ditto.

Mihael "Mello" Keehl

You were part of the Mafia. A badass girl that no one could fuck with. At all. One day, your boss called a meeting between the two of you. Being the faithful member that you were, you arrived on time and everything.

You knocked on the door to the room you were supposed to meet your boss at. "You wanted to see me, sir?"

"Come in, {Y/N}." He replied, and when you did, you saw a guy your age with blonde hair sitting down in a chair. Your boss motioned for you to sit beside the boy, so you did.

"Uh, who's this, boss?" You asked, and he sighed.

"{Y/N}, meet Mello. He's the newest member to our little... Club. The reason you're here is because I wanted to pair you with him."

"'P-pair', sir?"

"I want you and Mello to work together. He's very intelligent, and I think that your personalities will match up."

You stood up in slight anger, since Boss knew that you hardly liked to work with others. "Sir, I'm glad that you think so, but I barely know this guy! I'm not gonna work with a complete stranger!"

Your boss smiled and looked up at you. "I just want to try and see how it'll go. You'll be fine."

Mello also stood up, and held his hand out to you. "I'm Mello. Nice to meet you."

Reluctantly, you took his hand and shook it. "{Y/N}. {Y/N} {L/N}."

He smiled, and then spoke. "See? We're not strangers anymore. I think we'll get along just fine, {Y/N}."

Well, I hope so.

Mail "Matt" Jeevas

You were at a gaming convention, and as fate would have it, you were one of the best gamers in the region. There was a gaming competition at the convention, so you were there to see exactly how good you were.

As you were getting ready to compete, you sat down at your designated computer. (You're playing PC games...) When you looked to your right, you saw a red-haired guy checking you out. "So you're here to play too, huh?" He asked, and you nodded.

"Yeah. What's your name? I'm {Y/N}." You replied.

He gave you a cute finger salute and smirked. "The name's Matt, honey. I'm a gaming champion."

You giggled and got ready to play. "Nice to meet you, Matt. Sorry to burst your bubble, however, I'm gonna kick your ass."

He raised an eyebrow and grinned. "Bring it on."

Oh, I will.

Nate "Near" River

You were an American agent that was assigned to work with the SPK. Your close friend, Gevanni, was also assigned to work with the same case. When you two were getting ready for your first day on the job, he pulled you aside. "Listen, the leader of the SPK is kinda... Odd... So don't say anything to piss him off, alright?"

You rolled your eyes but nodded. "Yeah, yeah, whatever. I'm fine."

When the two of you entered the SPK headquarters, you saw a crouched down figure of a boy your age. He had white hair and dark, piercing eyes. You smiled and entered the office, heading straight for the boy. "Hi, sir, I'm {Y/N} {L/N}. I'll be working with you from today onwards on the Kira case."

The boy looked up at you and smiled. "Hello, Detective {L/N}, I'm Near. I look forward to working with you."

Gevanni came from behind you and put his hand on your shoulder. "{Y/N}, this is the head of the case. Near."

You simply nodded and walked away to go meet everyone else. However, the boy's smile wouldn't get out of your head for the remainder of the day.
