We carried on walking round laughing, and then Mark stops, and looks down at his feet.
"Beth?" He says, still looking down.
"Err yeah?" I reply slightly awkwardly, seeing as I still basically didn't know this guy.
"You're um.. really pretty, just saying,"
"Wow, thanks," I reply with a slight smile on my face.
"Wait did I actually just say that," Mark asks, surprised.
"I'm pretty sure you did," I laugh.
"U-uhh, I gotta go to my um, next class, I showed you where the lab was so.. err.. yeah, I'll see you at lunch," Mark says, and awkwardly waves and walked out.
'What just happened.' I thought to myself. 'I've been to this school for less that 3 hours and an amazing boy said I look pretty.' I think to myself again, and I quickly make my way to my next class.
All I could think about again was Mark, it was like I was brain washed or something, I've got his voice and laugh on repeat in my mind and I've known him for less than a day.
*LUNCH*
I slowly make my way to the cafeteria, I was slightly anxious as it was so busy, nothing like my old school. I felt like wherever I walked there were people staring, whispering about me behind my back. To be honest right now I was terrified, I felt so lost and in a blur with all these people around, I just decided to go and sit down and eat my lunch on an empty table, no stress.
I was walking down through the tables, trying to find atleast one empty table to sit on.
I walked past a table full of boys who snickered at me, I was so tired and lost I didn't even realise someone had stuck their foot out for me to trip right over and get my lunch everywhere, so guess what I went and did. I walked straight into a foot and tripped face first over onto the floor, my lunch flew everywhere. I felt like I could barely move, my ankle hurt, my neck hurt, all I could feel was the single tear slowly trickling down my face. I could hear the whole cafeteria laughing, I just wanted to make it stop, please make it stop.
"Beth!" I hear coming from behind me.
"Beth are you ok?" The voice said again, I could barely reply but I let out a small "I think," and everyone carried on laughing.
I suddenly felt someone help me up onto my legs, and then I realised who it was.
"Oh, Mark," I stuttered, in shock.
"Are you ok now?" Mark asks again, smiling.
"Yeah, I think I'm ok now," I smile back and pick up bag again.
It was covered in my lunch.
"Dang it," I sighed, but then noticed Mark staring into my eyes again, I tried not to stare back for a moment but I couldn't help it. His eyes were just so bright, and illuminating.
The crowd of people stood around us died down which just left us picking up my, well, 'lunch'.
*BREAK BEFORE NEXT LESSON*
"Thanks for, you know, helping me out at lunch.." I say nibbling on the spare apple that Mum always decides to
put in my bag for, 'just incase'.
"Well what are friends for, hey?" Mark smiled up at me.
I'm his friend. I thought to myself, and a huge smile appeared on my face.
"Wow you look happy," Mark said looking up at me.
"I just thought I wouldn't make any real 'friends' here to be honest," and laughed, getting back to eating my apple.
Mark smiled and checked the time on his phone,
"Damn, we're gonna be late for next period," Mark said in slight panic, as he walked off and waved at me.
I had a different class so I went the other way, maths. *Sigh**SKIP A FEW WEEKS AHEAD*
I've been here for quite a bit now. It's no way near as bad as I thought it would be, I've made a few new friends from my science class, I've met some girls at lunch and obviously one of my really good friends, Mark.
For ages now I guess I've had a slight 'crush' on Mark. I keep forgetting he called me pretty, so I'm really not sure what's going on to be honest.
I get to talk with Mark loads now, we have each other's numbers so we text and FaceTime quite a lot.
Marks just an amazing person. He's so kind and caring, he's funny and is always smiling. Oh my god his smile again.
He just makes me so happy when I'm with him.
