Chapter 2

Vallory POV

I locked my phone and started to clean the living room. Thoughts of Liam filled my head. He's attractive, but I wouldn't date him. Humming the song on my play list, I heard my phone buzz with a text.

Unlocking my phone, I groaned at who texted me.

Mom:

"Make yourself useful and vacuum the floor too. Spotless. And I mean it."

Closing the text, I ran to the closet And pulled out the vacuum cleaner. I plugged it in and started on cleaning. I vacuumed the floor, and under the coffee table. Making sure there was no dirt to be seen. I turned it off and threw it back in the closet. Right as I sat down on the couch, the front door opened. "Wow. You actually did as you were told. Guess you finally leaned your lesson." I rolled my eyes and trudged up the stairs. Wincing, I looked into the mirror. I lightly touched the area my mom hit me. You can see the red mark slowly turning blue. It was very noticeable. "Vallory, Hunny! Come downstairs! Your father's guest are here!" She sang. Taking one last look at the reddened mark, I pulled my sleeves down lower, trying to cover the scars as much as possible then ran downstairs. I didn't even make it down the last step when my mom was summoning me. "Vallory, dear, what did you run into today?" She asked, observing my red mark. "The door frame. Clumsy me." I said, faking a smile. She pained a smile back then tugged me down the steps. My eyes widened at the sight before me. "Vallory, this is your father's very important guests." She encouraged. Standing right in front of me, was the boy that entered my thoughts earlier today. "Hi, I'm Vallory." I said shaking Paul's hand then going towards Liam. "I'm Paul and this is my son, Liam." He said with a smile. I returned the smile and faces Liam. "Oh, dear, what happened to your face?" Liam asked when he saw me. My mom scowled at me from the corner of my eye. "Oh, I just ran into the door frame, I'm very clumsy." I lied. He just nodded and shook my hand. "Vallory, do you know who he is?" My dad asked. I shook my head no. "I'm Liam Payne. From One Direction. I'm in a band with 4 other mates. They live just down the road. Would you like to meet them?" He asked politely. I nodded eagerly. I wasn't too keen on meeting the boy band, but I just wanted to get out of the house. He opened the door and lead me outside. "They live 4 blocks from here. We're going to walk. Gives you plenty of time to explain that red mark on your face properly." He said. Was I ready to open up to him? Looks like, I haven't got a choice.
