Chapter 6

Niall POV

"Are you okay?" I asked carefully. She was sat down, biting on her sleeve ends. Putting her hands down, she looked up at me and smiled. A fake smile. "I'm fine." She lied. All I could do was nod. I didn't want to force her into telling me everything. I stood up and she followed. Walking towards her, I wrapped her in a hug. "I know your not fine. I can see it in your eyes. You don't have to tell me. Just, let me know when you're ready to talk." I whispered in her ear. She nodded and left my gaze. The doorbell ringing brought Vallory's attention to the door. "The party has arrived!" I heard Louis yell. Soon enough, Harry, Liam, Louis and Zayn were walking towards me with Vallory following. "Are you ready to get totally shitfaced?" Louis asked. "I don't know Lou, I wanna wake up and remember what happened last night." I said, slapping his shoulder. He nodded and ran off towards Harry. "Alright lads! Lets go!" Louis shouted, running towards the door. I shook my head and walked towards Vallory, placing a reassuring hand on her back. She leaned into me and followed a rather rowdy Louis towards the car.

Vallory POV

Butterflies erupted through my stomache as he put his arm on my back. I caved into him and walked on. When we reached the car, it was full. I ended up sat between a perverted a Harry and a quiet Liam. The car ride consisted of loud singing, laughing and "Fungi" jokes. I didn't dare sing, knowing I was in a car with professionals. I kept quiet and laughed when appropriate. When we reached the beach, everyone piled out, running to the shoreline. Niall hung back and helped me out of the car. I grabbed his hand and together we walked towards the rest of the boys. When we reached the sand, clothes were thrown everywhere. I bent down and picked up their shirts, placing them in a pile next to me as I sat down. Niall stood next to me and looked at the boys, then sat down with me. "You don't have to stay here, ill be fine." I said with a smile. He looked at me, then raised an eyebrow. "And miss out on all the fun?" He asked. I shrugged and looked at the boys splashing around. "What's up?" Niall asked looking at me with a puzzled look. "Nothing. Why?" I asked, now fully looking at him. He tucked a strand of hair behind my ear. "You just look so distant. What happened to your face?" He asked, lightly brushing over it. I winced. "I ran into the door frame." I lied. He shook his head. "I don't believe you. What really happened?" He urged. "My mom hit me." I said in a mumble. His eyes widened. He placed his hand under my chin and forced me to look at him. "Why did she hit you?" He asked carefully. I looked into his eyes and saw worry. Niall genuinely cared. I told him everything I told Liam. "Once Taylor died, I felt useless, and unwanted." He nodded in understanding. "And now, you know the story." I said with a shrug. Wiping my tear away, he said, "Listen to me. You are beautiful. Don't listen to your mom, okay? She doesn't know what she's talking about. It's no way your fault Taylor died. It was an accident, that wasn't your fault. Please, stop blaming yourself. If you need support Ill be there for you, I'm sure we all will. Don't ever feel like you can't call me, Okay?" He said, holding my face. I nodded and he smiled. "I'm here for you." He whispered. I just met him and I want to trust him, but can I? He flashed me a full toothed grin and stood up. "Imma go in for a bit okay?" He said, pulling off his shirt. I nodded and leaned back. He took off running to the water's edge, leaving me with thoughts of him.
