Reunion

"You know me?"

"Of course I do, you were my partner in crime." I smirked.

I started to sense the infected coming closer,"It’s fun catching up and all but we should get going, they’re coming."

"On a second thought they are already here." I said starting to fire shots at their heads.

The others followed my lead noticing that shooting anywhere else would waste bullets. We needed to go back to Red's chamber, the other entrance was swarming with them. I quickly fired more shots are started heading back to the room, everyone else ran after me and I quickly shut the door before anything else could come through.     

"Great we are stuck in here while those things are out there." The tough guy complained.

 “I wonder if I can knock him out...hmm.. but then he would be deadweight,” I thought.

"Wait where's Matt and Spence?" Alice asked.

"I don't know, they're on their own now." I replied.

I walked towards Red's chamber an idea forming in my head. Alice followed me and asked," What are you doing?"

"I'm turning her back on, she is the only one who knows a way out of this place."

"Will she help us?"

"Probably not because you did try to kill her. But don't worry she'll tell me." I said reassuringly.

"I'm starting to remember bits and pieces of you."

"Do you now? Do you remember me kicking your ass in training?" I smirked.

"If I remember correctly I was the one kicking your ass." She laughed.

"Yeah I think your memory is still messed up." I smirked.

"And Red should be on in three... two.... one." I said.

We turned around to see the image of  the A.I. "You’re alive!" I replied.

"Technically I was never alive to begin with." She retorted.

"I suppose those idiots have encountered the infected and are now trapped inside my chamber?"

"Yeah and we need your help, I know you know a way out."

"Why should I help them?"

"Because if you don't they will probably fry you into tiny computer bits, plus you would do it for me," I said grinning.

 "Fine then, there's a maintenance hatch behind my circuitry units."

Everyone gathered around the hatch and I peered down into the dim light. " Ladies first." I smirked at Alice and Rain. Rain rolled her eyes at me and I grinned back. Once everyone was down the hatch I waved goodbye at Red and jumped down. We entered a musty tunnel filled with pipes and occasional bursts of steam.

I could sense the infected down in the tunnels and looked for a safe exit. Wired fences blocked entrances to certain tunnels and we had to detour around them. We were going in circles when I heard the footfalls of the infected. I glanced upwards towards the pipes and found our way out.

"Everyone get on the pipes now!" I commanded. They quickly climbed up and I nimbly swung up onto the pipe, a second later a horde of infected rushed towards us. " That was a close one," I grinned.

"How can you be so sarcastic right now?" Alice asked.

"The only time I'm serious is when you know we are in serious shit."

"She's always smiles and jokes, freaking pisses me off." Rain added.

"Don't ruin my mood Rainy." I shot back at her.

“Don’t call me that.” She growled, making Alice snicker.

"Let's get going there should be an exit somewhere around here."

I started crawling over the pipes and towards an open space, the pipes had no support there so I suggested that we go one by one. I made Rain and Alice go first and I followed after with the annoying guy and the tech guy. “I probably should find out what their names are.”  

The pipes were really shaky when I crossed but I made it without anything happening. I couldn't exactly say the same for the bastard behind me. He was halfway around when a bolt came loose causing the pipes to lean on one side.

Rain cried out,"Kaplan!" I told him to stay put but the strain from his large build caused the pipe to crash down, straight into the pit of infected. I shot the zombies coming towards him as Rain tried to pull him up, but there were too many and they dragged him down. The tech guy was trapped on the other side and told us to keep on going, that he would find another way back. I saw Alice glance back and I grabbed her arm," Come on, there's nothing we can do for him now."

The tunnel was about to end and above us was a latch leading to god knows where.

"I'll go up first." I said sensing nothing above us but I had to make sure the coast was clear.

I quickly open the hatch and climbed out. I entered an empty hallway and checked for any signs of movement. Seeing none I motioned for the others to climb up.

"Where are we?" Alice asked.

"We must be near the labs." I said pointing to an abandoned lab coat on the ground. “Let's go find a lab, there might be a cure lying around.”

"There's a cure?" Rain said slightly relieved.    

"Yeah but it might not work so don't get your hopes up."

We continue down the hallway and came up to a sealed door. I punched in a familiar 4 digit code and it sprung open. Half of the lab was submerged in water.

"Well surprise surprise you made it." Said a sleazy voice.

"Hmm fancy seeing you here." I replied.

We filed into the room and I closed the door behind us. I scanned the situation before us, Rain was incapitated at the moment and it looked like Matt was bitten. Which left only Alice and I to think of a way out of this situation.

"I'd stay for the reunion but I have a train to catch. " Spence said pointing a gun at us.

"It was you all along, you were the one who released the virus." Alice said.

"Bingo! Now I'm going to leave this place in one piece and sell the virus on the black market. I will be rich... no we will be rich." He said thinking Alice would come with him.

"No way in hell am I going with you. You won't get away with this." Alice yelled at him as he walked out of the door. We heard a bang and I raced to the door to find it locked.

I heard a giggling and stared at the blinking camera. I smirked," You didn't did you?"

Red replied," He's not going to leave this facility."

"What's going on?" Matt asked. 

"Red left a tiny surprise for the scumbag." I smirked as we heard his screams.
