I was in a weird comatose state for who knows how long. Sometimes I would see flashes of light and voices whispering before I saw darkness again.
Weeks, months or even years passed and I wouldn't know it in the timeless space I was now stuck in. Suddenly it was like a switch flicked on and I woke up in some sort of tank filled with liquid. I started gasping for air and soon the tank began to empty. I landed on the cold harsh ground and started coughing, the air burning my throat as it entered my lungs.
I glanced up to see some sort of doctor or scientist before me. He was saying something but my ears were ringing and I couldn’t hear him. He sighed and placed a coat over me.
Finally his words started to make sense. “Do you know who you are?” He asked.
I tried speaking but no words escaped my lips. He asked another girl beside me the same question and I turned towards her.
We stared at each other and something clicked in my head. A word flashed through my mind. Umbrella. I quickly stood up and put him in a choke hold.
The girl who I remember was called Alice grabbed a pen and held it threateningly at him,“I’m Amy.” I finally responded.
“And I’m Alice.” She said.
We quickly knocked out the surrounding people and left the room. Alarms started blaring and at the entrance of the building were soldiers. A voice came on the P.A system that told them to let us go. A car pulled up to the drive way and we got in.
“It’s nice to see you guys again.” I grinned at Jill, Carlos and Angela.
Two Years Later......
Alice and I were on motorcycles travelling through the Nevada Desert. Years ago we found out that Umbrella was tracking us so we decided to leave the group for their own safety.
We broke into a facility and stole their satellite information. Using that we were able to stay under the radar and disappear from them.
The wind was whipping sand into my face and I pulled my hoodie down. My sunglasses blocked out most of the sand however my eyes were starting to get irritated.
Alice motioned me to stop at the nearby gas station, “She must be running low on gas,” I thought.
I shot an arrow through the head of the zombie approaching us. Alice went inside to look for some supplies as I filled up her bike with the little gas that was left in the pump.
She came back looking somewhat disgruntled and clutching a journal. She showed me a page that said that a place in Alaska called Arcadia was infection free. Now that we had a destination, we could stop roaming around the world.
We started our bikes and left the station behind us. Soon night came and we stopped to make camp. I was lying down unable to sleep as I looked up at the stars. I turned towards Alice and said,” Do you really think Arcadia is safe?”
She sighed,” I don’t know but there’s only one way to find out.”
“Get some sleep, you’re going to need it.”
"Good night Alice." I said.
"Good night Amy."
