The Truth Covered In Lies

Chapter VI

After my visit with Doctor Isaiah,we returned back to my room,"I told you nothing was wrong with me."

"I guess Katerina,I was just worried that's all,"Geric said.

"I'm glad you were worried but I'm fine now. I just need some rest,but tomorrow im leaving. I have to return home and check in on Carol,she's probably worried sick."I said to Geric

"She knows where you are at Katerina we already told her. Plus I don't think you want to leave with out your armor."he said

"What did you do to my armor?"I asked angrily

"We had it fixed up and cleaned,but my mother had some alterations added to it."

"What kind of alterations? "I asked angrily

"We may have changed it a little. Like made it a dress type armor,it'll be easier to move in. I thought you might like it instead of your father's armor,"he told me.

"You changed my father's armor!"I yelled

"Yes but its still the original pieces just altered,"he said backing away.

"You better run before I kill you Geric!"

Geric took off running,I started to chase him. He's not the only one who knew his way around the castle. My sisters also knew their way around.

"I wish I could forget,"I whispered to myself.

"Forget what Katerina?"asked

Turning around I see King Dustin with a sad smile on his face,"Forget that night. I have nightmares every night because of that day. When I ran into to him yesterday he said my parents were arranging a marriage for me."

I saw a look of guilt cross his face,"Yes Katerina it is true. I told them that Geric wanted to be the one but they declined. They wanted you to marry a Knight. They were arranging it for you to marry Matt. Instead another kingdom heard about the idea and hopped on the opportunity. The King's son was being trained to be a Knight and they asked for your hand in marriage. They decided to go with them. When you turn eighteen they are coming to get you. I'm sorry I couldn't do anything."

I looked at him in horror,"No this can't be! Why would they do that without my permission. This can't be,I can't marry someone I don't know."

"I'll leave you to your thoughts Katerina,since your parents have passed you may not have to marry the other Prince,"the King said and walked off.

I walked to the garden to clear my head,"Why didn't they tell me. Why didn't they just be honest? I would've done it if I had a choice in the matter."

"That's why they didn't tell you Katerina,they wanted what was best for you,"said Geric.

"I'm going to head back to my room and get some rest,"I said and walked off.
