****** the song does not fid the morbidness of the story but the words do i geuss enjoy**********
While lurking about in the shadows, within the hallways. I spot my sister, Rosemary looking much younger, I suppose around the age of four. She had long and lush deep brown hair, almost black, that fell in perfect ringlets that reached her waist, big innocent green eyes, which graced her adorable round face, and she possessed a cute tiny frame, that was covered with a black floor length dress.
Rosemary had such a joyous expression upon her face. I wondered, why she would make such a face alone, in the great room. To get a closer look my feet shuffled along the floorboards, which seemed to creak at each move I made. Finally with a better view, my question had been answered.
" Rosie, my sweetest child, you will be a prodigy someday." my father had said proudly
" Being able to play the piano so beautifully, like a person two years above you or even like your older sister is something to boast about" my mother added, flashing a smile at my sister.
I'm now filled with rage, how is someone whom is four years of age able to be compared to someone like me? I'm smart, cute, older, I own pretty dresses, and mother and father love me best. I should be were Rosemary is, those are my complements. I stamp my foot in frustration.
" Big sister is that you?" her voice sounds like music to my ears which infurate me more. My body reacted on its own, turning towards the staircase running up them at the greatest speed my body will allow. Behind me I hear the floorboards creak again. Standing at the foot of the staircase is Rosemary. Cupping her hands around her mouth yelling
"Big Sister!! BIG SISTER!!" as if by doing that by doing that it will amplify the words she had yelled.
In my room, I carefully take out the bun, that one of the servants spent so much time and effort on. Slowly I walk over to my bedside table, not bothering to turn on the lantern on, grab my hairbrush and sit on the floor, in front of a big thin mirror, leaning against the wall. I start at the top of my head with my brush pulling knots out with ease.
"Big Sister, may I?" my head snaps around to find Rosemary in her white night gown, as she gestures towards my hairbrush. I narrowed my eyes at her wanting nothing more, but for her to disappear. Yet I nod my head in approval for her to step in my dark room. Handing the hairbrush over to her, I begin to think that i should get over being mad...
"Big Sister, you may think this is a tall tale but today, while I was at piano classes my teacher said that I am able to transfer to your..." she started but I didn't even let her finish, for i knew what she would say. How dare she come into my room and talk only about herself! At the very moment she opened her mouth to speak, I snapped.
"Rosemary." I say in the most loving way I could muster, while I grabbed the mirror off the ground, and my eyes began to twitch. With mirror in one hand I close the door but only allowing a small ray of light within my dark room. I raise it up above my head taking small, even and calm steps toward my dear, and beloved sister.
"Rosemary don't be scared." this time venom seeping through.
I look in Rosemary's eyes and can clearly see the pleading within, those big green eyes of hers. Finally I cornered her, smiling ever so sweetly.
" Big Sister" she croaked.
With force I bring down the mirror, crashing it down on her head. Then I take shards of the mirror and with it, on the far right side of her forehead, were her hairline starts. I began to create a big gash that spans from her hairline and continues straight down till about three millimeters away from the end of her eyebrow, while also making sure it was really deep.
"Big Sister stop." Rosemary was pleading. When I was satisfied with, what I had done, I realized my hands were cut and bloody. I pondered for, only but a second and smeared my bright red blood in her beautiful deep brown curly hair.
I examined my younger sister's face, searching for her tears, but find nothing. She is expressionless as a dead body. Slowly I get up dusting myself off, then out of the blue, I find myself thrown across the room. Only to find Rosemary griping a lantern, as if her life depended on it.
Her once brilliant green eyes, were now filled with deep hatred and hunger, upon her mouth was a warped smile, with blood that stained her lips. Her hair was untamed, and unruly, it was as if she had exchanged her hair with Medusa. Then I noticed the gash, I had made on her forehead, was very bloody and dripping down her face. Slowly she stalks towards me as if I'm her prey.
"Big Sister" she says so close to my face, I was able to feel her hot breath on my face.
"All I wanted was to be like my Big Sister" she said again, but now was walking in circles around me.
" I didn't want to be like Big Brother, Mother or, Father, but you!"
" Rosemary, I.."
" I what Elizabeth, shut up!!" she yells at me with venom in her voice, as she pushed me to the ground from behind. My face bashes onto the floor with such force my nose started to bleed. In state of shock I looked up at my sister's face, who is she, that person is not my sweet Rosemary she must be possessed...right? Rosemary, takes the lantern with two hands.
" Dont" I whispered
" Goodnight" she replies softly as the lantern connects to my temple with such force, I let out an ear shattering scream and the last thing I heard before everything went black, was the soft thump of a body that had fallen onto the floor beside me.
