Losing control

Cut cut cut the voices scream,
the blade giving a sinister gleam,
grinning as it's tightly gripped,
running across the skin now ripped,
malicious and angry in its attack,
the injured body doesn't fight back,
but relaxes under the slick of the blade,
a long red line it's edge has made,
it's not deep, it won't scar for long,
but good enough to punish all that's gone wrong,
to divert the mind for just a short while,
almost enough to conjour a smile,
the ghost of a grin creeping in,
no one else has been hurt, it's not a sin,
a sign of strength to keep it inside,
taking skill to be able to hide,
covering up the ugly mess,
the skin you show becoming less,
keeping yourself well concealed,
no one can see how you really feel,
no one can see the pain behind your eyes,
no one knoes how much you want to die.
