Pain

Anger twisting through every cell,
your once strong mind broken, it fell,
into the depths of your hurt,
aggressive thoughts short and curt,
biting down on your fragile mind,
depression coiled, unable to unwind,
and release every emotion pent up,
out of your secret box you pluck,
a sharp shiny blade,
ready to replace the scars that fade,
and cut a new map from your mind into your burning skin,
this, a war you know you can't win,
but you continue to drag the blade across your thigh,
so much pain, you begin to cry,
but the pain is inside, it's not the cut,
it's how you feel so stuck in this rut,
so much anger pent up inside,
but there's no one in whom you want to confide,
so you lash out instead when they ask you what's wrong,
they don't know how you've been hurting for so long,
pushing everybody away who could possibly care,
knowing that you are too sick to repair,
wanting to be left alone,
why won't you just let you die now, on your own?
