New Guardian

The Guardians

I could tell I hadn't been in wolf form for long, once I met the darkness I fell back into my, well not human form but let's just say guardian form for now. By the smell of the fabric I was enclosed in, I was in sack. How interesting..Although I hadn't entirely turned wolf officially, I still had access to all the instincts of an actual wolf whether I was in 'guardian' form or not. "Hello?" I said, "Let me out Bunnymund!" I demanded. Suddenly I heard voices and the sack was picked up and thrown through what I suspected was a portal. "Probably North's idea" I said quietly chuckling. The sack crashed to the floor panels on the other side of the portal. "Ow" I grumbled as I fell flat on my face, but all the while I was curled up in a ball trying to protect my amulet. No way was I going to die at the age of 215 in a sack! I heard excited voices around me and soon I smelt cookies? The sack was opened and who do I see? The Five Guardians standing before me: North (Santa), Tooth, Bunnymund, Sandman and Jack Frost. "Ah Emma Wolfblood" North smiled, "Santa?" I said wryly. "I guess you've met Bunny and Jack" North said and both guys stepped forward. "Ah..Ya" I chuckled, "All too soon" Jack joked. Honestly I found Jack cute when I first saw him, but stuffing me in a sack then shoving through a magic portal? Not cool! "Well I'm guessing you didn't think the whole 'transportation' thing out did yas?" I said getting out of the sack. "No, but we did the same thing with Jack when he was selected to be a new guardian." Tooth flew up day-dreamily staring at Jack's white teeth. Guardian!? "Wait..What?!" I exclaimed jumping backwards. "That's right, Man in Moon chose you to be guardian, because of your bravery" Bunnymund said. "What bravery?" I asked straighting up. "You know, saving your younger brother from that wolf?" Tooth mentioned. "Max.." I said and stared at the ground. "You mean, I've been chosen to be a responsible guardian because I tooth my little brother out into the woods at sunset, in wolf territory then almost got him hunted down by a wolf!" I said tears on the verge of spilling. "No, you SAVED Max from that wolf, even if it meant getting yourself in a serious situation for him" North said reassuring me with one of his well known jolly smiles. "So Man in Moon chose you" Jack chirped in and Sandman did a sand image of Man in Moon above his head and gave a thumbs up. "Well you can celebrate your bravery by becoming a guardian!" North cheered. I knew what would happen; music, elves, a big book...slippers. "Wait!!" I said loudly shaking my head. "You can't escape that fact that Man in Moon chose you to be guardian" Bunnymund said. "I know EB" I sighed. Bunnymund smiled "Better than Kangaroo" he chuckled. "Duh" I replied jokingly winking at Jack. He rolled his eyes in amusement. "But I've spent 200 years mucking around" I concluded preparing to leave the North Pole. "You can still do that! Just also be a Winter and forest protector" Tooth said trying to be persuasive, trust me, it's working! "I'll sleep on it, but once question..I've heard of the naught and nice list" I said curiously. "Ah that" North said looking at Jack, he stood forward with pride his blue eyes shining. "There's been a change in records Jack" Tooth stutters  shyly, "What?" Jack says snapping out of his 'pride moment'. "Emma Wolfblood here, has umm taken first place" North chuckled. "So you're second mate" Bunnymund laughed teasing Jack. "What? A girl holding record on the naughty list?" Jack blurts. "Some guardian of snowballs and fun times" I rolled my eyes and smiled. "Well, it's been nice meeting you all, even you Jack." I started. "But, I'm the wrong girl, I'll stuff it all up and besides! I'm don't think I'm cut up for the job" I admitted innocently sitting of a desk then freezing one of the elves. "Em, come with me" North said. Jack just smirked at me. "You're in for it" he whispered. "This isn't over.Frost" I whispered back and followed North,

"Slow down would d'ya?" I asked flying to keep up with North. "I suppose you've tried to bust in like Jack did, he said the same when he first got here" North chuckled. Ummmm. "I thought about it, I got past the Yetis first shot, but I got bored, no one was home!" I shrugged and avoided North's stern look. I looked over a Yeti "Hey Phil, not sleeping on the job are ya?" I joke, he was on duty sleeping when I snuck through. He glared at me and a hurriedly looked ahead of me. The workshop was bustling with activity, we entered a majestic room filled with Yetis making heaps of toys. "I thought the elves made the toys?" I said confused. North leaned closer to me as we walked, "We let the humans believe that" North whispers, "Riggghhhtt" I say and look over at some cute elves, eating Christmas decorations and another being zapped with Christmas lights. "Keep it up!" North calls and we pass a Yeti painting blue robots. "NO! Paint it red" North scoulds, the Yeti cries in dismay as he shows all the hundreds of blue robots he had already painted. I shrugged and walked on. Once we were in North's office, I was gobsmacked at all the shelves packed with toys, sketches and more. I tried to stop my amazed expression but it looked so cool! "Fruit Cake?" North offered handing a plate to me. "Nah thanks" I politely shook my head. North smiled and threw it away. The door slammed shut and locked automatically. "Umm" I said cautiously as North cracked his knuckles and backed me up against the door. "Who are you Wolfblood, what's your center?" Norths asks, his breath smelt like cookies?! "My Center?" I repeat. "Yeah, Man in Moon chose you for reason, you must be special" he answered. North. "I find that hard to believe" I say sarcastically, North straightens up and looks at me with wonder. "Sarcastic thing aren't you?" He says, "Sorry, I can't help it" I say appologetically. Gotta to do something about that! "Well, I can't expect a kid like you to take guardian responsiblity." North teased. "Excuse me?" I said slightly offened. "You're only 215" he added smirking stroking his beard. "I'll prove I'm NOT a kid!" I proclaimed. "You have two weeks Wolfblood. Show us what you've got." North said and we left his office.
